I know people are saying this one didn't work as a mythology ep but where does it say that this has to even be a myth ep? Just because it's on in Feb. sweeps? I didn't even think of it as mythology. We were given so much more and it threw me off guard. That's one thing I liked about it. Frankly the alien story has gotten a bit silly to me. I had a hard time swallowing the CSM's hotel room spiel in Two Fathers/One Son.

Let me reiterate I never said you were nitpicking. In fact I said you had several valid points.

Can I disagree with saying CC played the emotion card? Most defintely! Of course ANY conclusion he had regarding the Samantha issue would be emotional. So how is it playing a card to do so? That implies an intent to be sneaky. We knew for years that the Sam event would be big.

As for horror and emotion writers. I do not scare easily nor do I cry easily (unless there's a cute fuzzy animal involved). I'm no pushover. I've never cried in an XF ep while others have said they've cried buckets on several ocassions. So in order to get me CC really had his work cut out for him. That's what I was saying about it affecting me and that being very important. I was only speaking for myself on a personal level. I can't speak for anyone else. But that's far from the only reason I liked it.

I still disagree on the nurse's line. It worked for me. And I lovd Mulder's "I'm free"! He can come to my house and say "I'm free" as many times as he wants!

You wrote: AND I still resent the implication that those who don't believe this crap are therefore incapable of understanding it. It just doesn't make sense.

WHoa! I never said that! Why not yell at whoever did instead of lil ole me?

What crap don't you believe? Somneone pointd out to me that the difficulty in believeability may stem from people's individual feelings on spirtuality which is a ery personal subject. But whether one believes or not, to me, it's still most important to accept Mulder does believe and therefore we believe him. DId you believe Scully saw her father's ghost in Beyond the Sea? there are many similairties between that and this.

Hairytoes attracted to GW Bush? Now THAT is scary!

det, who's getting testy, not from the discussion, but from having to rewrite this whole post because of my stupid Webtv disconnecting and me hitting the wrong button :-(
