Subject: I must have had a mental lapse...

Although the word "perspicacious" was well-used in reference to your comparison of Meyers to Meadows, my paragraph for Meyers is all botched up. I must have had a brain lapse, so I will revise it now.

S. Meyers - I continue to be baffled at how popular this guy is amongst the hard-core fans. I just don't understand it, because Meyers has never found his niche at SNL...NEVER. He, much like the PERSPICACIOUS CCS has noted, is the Tim Meadows of his era, except for he has not found his Perspectives, much less his Ladies' Man. And he isn't near as funny as Meadows could be in more zany roles: I am harkened back to several bits I won't divulge here (ask me in chat). Nevertheless, Meyers best role is playing a silly character, like Zinger, for instance. But, this rarely is ever daring or unpredictable, and rarely provides for more than a chuckle...the initial Zinger bit the rare exception. In the end, Seth must go to find his place amongst the Kroegers and Meadows of the former cast members...essentially pop-culture oblivion. But, he will be missed...kinda.

What I'm wondering is if SNL will gamble on his Kerry impression and keep him around. IMO, his performance during the Barrymore ep proved he could be an invaluable impressionist of the potential Dem. nominee...but I'm not quite sure if that alone will grant him a reprieve. The way I see it, Lorne/NBC likely wants to completely change the identity of SNL's cast, since that's what's occurred each time there was a big shake-up. Meyers, along with Fallon, Sanz, Parnell, Hammond, Rudolph, and Dratch, have been a part of that identity for at least 2 years now, and I see those types as the first to go. But, Meyers is the least tenured amongst those individuals, so he may likely stay around. I personally would rather someone else come in and fill his spot. He's not quite dead weight, but I feel someone else could do a lot more with the opportunity.
