Subject: A testosterone-laden review to match the show

Forgive me if the title is confusing, but I thought it would be appropriate since this week's show featured only contributions from male writers (though I don't know if Wintah and Buchams are guys or girls.) Regardless, let's go on with the review!

McDonald's Innovations - Pretty interesting piece. I've seen sketches about how a business is planning to take over the world, but it's usually an electronics or broadcasting company, not a fast food franchise. This had some very interesting "improvements", the best of which were the weightlifter replacing handicapped spaces and the Russian Roulette rooms for people 13 and up. Not a laugh-out-loud sketch, but still quite good.

Monologue - a short and sweet piece that did a good job capturing Dane's style. This is what I like to see when a successful stand-up comic hosts; just them on the stage doing their act to make us laugh. A very nice work, though the "beeping when she backs up" bit has been done to death. All in all, though, great monologue.

A Message from the Weather Channel - a little disjointed at points, but it had some clever one-liners. I particularly liked the bit about Andrew "blowing off" a guy's pants and the bits about rattling off the Greek alphabet when naming storms. You could have done without the Dennis the Menace through Wilma lines, though. Still, good work poking fun at how newscasters in every profession are leeches who thrive on tragedy for ratings.

Talkin' 'Bout the Midnight Rambler - This was an incredible piece. I have never seen an unsuccessful serial killer sketch, but this has spoiled me for all others of the type. It had killer dialogue, snappy comebacks, and great characters. Wonderful work. Welcome to the family, Wintah.

Bad Judge of Character - The concept of being embarrased in a video rental store has been done before, but the basic idea was well played out with this skit. I loved the conflict between Dane and the humorless clerk, especially the whole mess that blew up about how Dane didn't rewind a DVD, that was comic gold. And having the lady he offended turn out to be the judge was a great twist. Admittedly, though, there were a few too many sexual comments for my liking.

The Cramped Quarters Workout - Oh, I would have loved to see this physically acted out. It's just too funny to be restricted to text on a computer.

Dave Schneider - the Asexual Guy - This didn't really appeal to me, sorry to say. It just didn't have a good comedic flow or any really clever lines.

Steve - the Stevenator! Stevearino! Stevearooney!... sorry, where was I? Oh yeah, the review! This wasn't really that funny a piece, I couldn't find any actual humor in it. If Steve did something offensive or obscene to help relieve stress, that would have been funnier (See the online piece "A Big Black Guy named Ben" for further information about this concept.)

Grammy at the Mall - another one that didn't appeal to me. I just couldn't find the plot or character lines funny. I apologize.

Jury Duty 2 - more of the same old politician and celebrity jokes... let's pass on this one. Moving on!

Hilltop Gang Furniture Store - Meh. I know I've already said this enough times, but I didn't find it that humorous. Sorry, I can't explain it. Certain things just appeal to me and some don't.

Well, that's it for another review. With luck I'll be able to get in a joke-by-joke update commentary in pretty soon. Have a good day, everyone... and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let me be the only one to review this time!
