Long title for a review. Anyways, I hope the brief review format for Alec Baldwin is a good thing, because I suggest that format for people who are short on time. Categorizing them by good, eh, and bad, and one sentence comments.

Now... here's the review. Because it’s the awesome power of reviews! I mean what can’t they do... besides cure cancer.

Alito Hearings: Senator Dewine, wow absurdity at it’s finest. Feinstein’s little speech at the end was nicely put. Excellent CO, and it really put together the whole Alito situation into a simple but effective sketch. SNL would not have done it this good, and whatever they did in the WU was below average.

Monologue: Like Jim said, there hasn’t been any solid heckler monologues in awhile. Man, that one Adam McKay did back when Tobey Mcguire hosted was gold. This particular one was solid. Most of his one-liners were well placed and crafted and that led to decent monologue. Bill Hader definitely has a good sarcastic character trait. That’s why I chose him as the manager for my sketch.

99 Cents: Jim, this was long, but it was a fun read. Plot-wise it was alright. Cheap people is kind of old subject, but it still managed to drum up some great humor. It had the random one-liners which beefed up the sketch. It was a bit slow in the middle. When they are looking around a bit. Heh, the caution warnings with the lab mice were a nice recurring bit! And I just loved the character of Rohit “Stereotype”. He was a good slam at everything PC. I would have given him some more lines to help fill up the slow moments.

Midnight Sleaze: Admitted the swearing got out of hand, I’m not saying that swear words aren’t funny. In my opinion, I find the randomness of swearing humorous. That said, there are occasions when it is funny in your sketches Mark. But here it didn’t add to the comic effect. The rest of the lines were stale, Lipsey Lohan, yeah, sounds like something Howard Stern would avoid using. Sorry man, but this was a miss. I would get away from creepy pervert/porno sketches until, you can come up with a good hilarious bit. Because

700 Club: The Pat Robertson jabs couldn’t come at a better time. SNL’s cartoon Cold opening did a similar job to yours. You went for a more accurate portrayal of the show I guess. I’ve never actually seen an episode, but I’ve heard of things he’s done and said on the show. I think that’s a better route to take with the sketch. Sure it was slow at some points, but it was effective, so solid sketch. I’m lovin the Pat Robertson disses.

WU: Once again, the jokes were a variety of hits and misses! Some good, some really bad. My favorites were Mecca Trampling and Fountain urinal joke. Though I’ll admit I did chuckle at that Scissor kick Alito joke. The Gene Shalit bit was pretty weak, Mormon jokes are getting stale and the reveal that he was gay, seemed to fall flat and not add any humor. The Laura Bush bit, while vicious, did seem forced.

It’s NBC Retooling Time: Ok, this was kind of weak. The line about Classic SNL was good, but the whole Georgie/Joey was just unnecessary. I liked the bit about Brian Williams going shirtless and I would have played with more absurd NBC retooling measures. Like taking random characters in and out of shows. That might have been a better way to approach this sketch.

Norfolk Candy: Jason... pretty good. Dumb Clerks is obviously your forte. And what is even more satisfying is the fact that it is such a stale subject but you make it a lively sketch. You manage to bring promise to recurring characters without making them carbon copies. I commend you on that. Clem was extremely hilarious! And I also loved that Gusher, blood pouring bit. Now that is sick humor, not just sick, but actually funny. Hilarious piece.

Attack of the Uterus: Heh, the opening line about the pic was worth a good laugh. It’s not the good kind of “nasty”. The whole monster movie type format seemed cliche’, but as I got into it, the humor just unraveled. That tea bit was well executed and I couldn’t help laugh at the names as well as the women have become zombies line. Nicely done, and welcome back Hillary.

Well that’s it for me! Thank you and take care of yourselves! And if anyone else can review... long and short, whatever you can, that would be great.
