Seriously, I don't give a crap about celebrity news, especially seeing as how there aren't many people in show business who truly deserve the moniker of "celebrity." Unless there's a barbiturate orderdose like in the old days, the actions of modern-day celebrities are more cries for help than hard news.

I would also advise against MTV-style parodies, as those have never been funny (realizing, of course, considering Portman's youthful age, we may be plagued with many of these on SNL next week).

I agree the Cheney hunting accident is old days, and actually wasn't all that interesting to begin with, if I may be so bold. I know the media would love it if the guy kicks off, because then they'd have a real scandal to play up, but hunting accidents are hardly news. Three words: Welcome to Colorado.

What does everyone have on tap this week, anyway? I haven't had time to consider anything, as we've been holed up in various motels/hotels in northern Virginia for almost the last two weeks. We're searching frantically for an apartment - any apartment - just so we can unload all the shit in our cars (including cat shit, as the case may be). I might start various temp jobs by next Monday, so I'll be alone at the motel room during the day while the wife teaches one county over. Should give me time to think up comedy ideas in between make-believe daytime courtroom shows.
