As far as I knew, only former hosts and cast members were ineligible. I don't remember if former musical guests were excluded, though this hasn't yet presented a problem. This is not written in stone anywhere that I know of. In fact, given that we have had Swartzenegger and a couple of other cameoers do the mock host thing, I'm not so sure they ever were excluded, or should be. I just don't know. It's certainly not as though a celebrity who has cameoed has played such a major role on SNL - don't they usually just play themselves acting all humble to be there for 30 seconds while the audience applauds for 60?

And I say we stick with the usual 6 episodes instead of trying to push it to 7, as the time off between seasons remains unchanged. I suppose those of you who have been contributing for a wide range of years now and have been pleading for a "Best of" should form your lists and we can try to squeeze those in during off periods.
