"I'm not sure the framework you have of making this a special feature worked that well. Many times, "lost movie scenes" type sketches take place as clips on a talk show."

I suspect Jason was trying to duplicate the Special Features menu from the "Rain Man" DVD. There's only one deleted scene, and it's introduced by Barry Levinson before it plays. When the scene ends, the disc returns us to the menu. Used in a sketch, I think it needs to return to Levinson for a final punchline, instead of just fading to black as it does on the DVD. Kind of like when Tom Hanks showed outtakes from "Big" years ago, or the "Titanic" lost ending that segued to James Cameron lighting his cigar with a $100 bill before fading to commercial. But I did like the Jarrett's Room style of duplicating the DVD menu screen for the sketch, as well as the absurdity of playing for a new bathroom set.
