Well, you learn something new everyday. Seems an odd way to make a DVD, but if they did use such a self-indulgent mechanism, might as well slam them for it. Your problem to some extent will be audience recognition... I've seen clips so I've seen the movie, which puts me at moderately aware, but even people who've seen the movie plenty of times might not realize you're making fun of an actual feature of the DVD. I'm uncertain of any way to clue the audience into the fact that the deleted scenes are actually like this, but if you could find one, it'd at least bring the people who have seen the movie but not the DVD on board.
