Pretty good show this weekend. I wish there were a couple more sketches though. I had written another skit but must not have been sent. Oh well. As the French say it, "That's life!"

Hurricane Dennis Coverage: Lowe's and "The" Home Depot verbally fight over whose store will be evacuated first of purchases. News-like setup was unique and idea was brilliant. Alba's character laughing maniacally at the end was eerily amusing.

Monologue: Nothing about this made me really laugh. A very short monologue may be good on TV to get the show going, but arguing about booby size for ten seconds isn't so entertaining. Did not like the London joke at all. Would any show ever do something like that, no even two days after the tragic event?

Synchronized Snoring Summer Camp: Just as interesting as the first incarnation. However, it may seem to become tiresome if this is all you do, Mr. Dean. I loved the confrontation between Stefani and the good-guy snorers. One troubled spot I had: I don't want to sound like an asshole, but you do know Ana Gasteyer is not on the show anymore, right? I'm just hoping these are cameos by her, because if not, you haven't watched SNL in awhile and are not a true fan. Whoooooo! Sorry to have to shake that one out at you. Decent skit that should continue to become recurring, but use space and time to an advantage. The reason recurring skits or characters work is because we remember them, but haven't seen them in a short while. Too many times in a short span example: MANGO!!!!!!!! What is my problem tonight? Sorry this portion is so long and I will stop commenting on it any further. Okay, calm down. Why am I still writing? Stop.

The Wedding Crashers: Some great one-liners but the sketch fell flat when Vaughn and Wilson just starting throwing their weight around and swearing and cussing was abound. The SPEED joke was great, though. Since you used them as special guests and not impressions, it is like they are making fun of their own upcoming movie by (from what I've seen from commercials) making them complete opposites. Good and nice in movie, bad and loud in spoof. I'm probably not making any sense, and I apologize. Did I ever mention that I hating making reviews?

Weekend Update (at a later time)

Not Without My I-Pod: Should've been a little bit longer, would have loved to see and hear more music. At first, I truly thought this was going nowhere. But then the background music for certain situations caught me off-guard and made everything funny to me. Great stuff.

Buzzer Beater: Another very funny skit. I love surreal stuff in comedy, it makes for a very entertaining three-to-five minute sketch that we are grown accustomed to by watching SNL every week. The white beards were hilarious, and reminded me of that SNL commercial Long White Beard. The ending was top-notch with the goaltending call and the aftermath by the commentator.

A Real Celebrity Moment: Whenever I read something said by Christopher Walken, I try to do my impression and read out loud. Anything the man says is usually funny on SNL, and by God, this was no exception. Even though it was unintentional, I applaud MJR for giving me an interactive event in my life for tonight, for I think I do a decent imitative voice of the pale skinny actor.

The Assassin And The Jumper: Every once in a while, I tend to notice SNL skits in some of these scripts, and I just would love to mention them every chance I get. The argument of shooting the gun or jumping reminded me a lot of Mace's (Phil Hartman) empty threats toward an idioticly brave and repetitive hostage (Nealon) from the Joe Montana-Walter Payton episode. Anyway, to the sketch itself, great premise for first-time SNY writer Cat Adams, and loved the real dialogue between the two stars. Kind of corny ending with the jumper actually jumping after pushing the assassin, but all in all, cool beans.

THE END
