It’s gettin hot in here so I’m gonna review the show
I am gettin too hot I wanna make some comments
Oh...
It’s gettin hot in here so I’m gonna review the show!

Wow, that’s a weak parody for a song from 3 years ago. I think the heat’s getting to me, and it’s hot over here! Anyways it’s time for a review for the episode. I have to say SNY is stronger than ever. This is shaping out to be a great mock season.

Hurricane Dennis Coverage: Some excellent jabs at sponsorship. Now that I think about it, we could have done something with Fantastic Four. When SBC Yahoo DSL is using the human torch to demonstrate their high speed, sponsorship has gone array! But this was a very timely sketch. The fact that the anchor’s were from rival stores was great because it provided some great personal attacks. I agree, that orange vest is for pansies not to mention downright hideous.

Monologue: Wasn’t that great as a monologue, but I think it was okay for a monologue written at the last minute. No episode should go on without a monologue. Hey, it could have been worse, Alba could have just presented rejected Fantastic Four members, yikes! But the London gag wasn’t appropriate at all and the gag wasn’t that great anyways. It’s obvious that this movie wasn’t going to bomb. Actually it would have been funnier if you used someone else besides Amy. Use Maya, it’ll give her a chance to do some comedy instead singing every time.

Snoring: All right, another SNY original recurring character. To top it off, the sketch isn’t a useless carbon copy like SNL’s. I have to commend you with coming up with this whole concept. The snore-off with Gwen Stefani and the Japanese girls was hilarious. I know I’m the third person to say this, but you must make sure that you don’t fall into a trap of repeated gags. But the one thing that will help this sketch is the constant addition of new members to the team. The variety of different characters will hopefully lead to different situations.

Getting Away: Solid sketch Jason. Reminds me of Reno 911, but more subtle. I like the bit about the cop being oblivious to world events. It’s insane because I know people like that. I swear they live under the dullest rock ever! There was perfect casting with Horatio and Kenan as the lazy cops. The jab at the woman dispatcher was a nice touch. Overall, it was a nice simple sketch.

Wedding Crashers Sketch: It was a long ass title. Hmm... basically both Vince and Owen cameo just so that they promote the film and do a sketch which is quick version of the film. First off I gotta say Vince Vaughn is perfect for sketch comedy and I think he should host again. He’s got some real comedy chops and I saw his first hosting gig and it was pretty good show. But this was pretty stale if you ask me. My suggestion would have them crash ethnic weddings like a hippy wedding. Have them giving the toast to a couple named “Blossom and Waterfall”.

WU: Wow, I am amazed. It was only me and MJR this week wow. I wrote the Finesse Mitchell commentary. I have to give it up to SNY’s very own cameo writer! MJRII wrote a hell of an Update. I loved the Tucker Carlson commentary. Screw politics, I wanna talk about how insane Tom Cruise is! The George W. Bit with the Fantastic Four was timely. Although cliche’ it was fun. My favorite jokes were the Gene Wilder joke, the Lil Kim joke, and the Eric Bana joke.

Buzzer Beater: Okay, I liked the idea behind this. The apple fritters, heh that was a good name. The idea was great, and I enjoyed the fake beards and the bit where she’s already with an agent. The ending was well written. It was a good build-up sketch.

A Real Celebrity Moment II: Okay, you brought this sketch back. It was better the second time around. The absurd lines from Walken were pretty good. Although pretty much everything absurd is said by Walken. He really should host again.

Assassin and a Jumper: Interesting Idea. “I’m going to kill you but wait you’re already trying to kill yourself” I think it was a bit too short, almost rushed. I would have gone off in a direction, but still it was an acceptable sketch. It was perfect for those 10 to 1 sketches.

The next episode is Johnny Depp, hopefully the comedy will keep on coming.
