Howdy new guy I actually liked your VCR sketch this week, clever stuff but I will agree with you that it did lack a bit, computers messing up like this will just keep us farther away from living Jetson style. Anyhoo on to your questions

1. Patrick in my experience, has been semi-strict about his deadline policy of having your sketches in by Friday morning. I tell myself to always have my sketches done by friday afternoon at the latest. After that things can get a bit rocky, the only sure fire chance after that is if Pat needs a monologue or cold open for the show.

2. Same deadline for WU as for the sketches. As to writing WU jokes, my best advice would be to check your local newspapers as well as Yahoo for its news sections and see what you find funny, whether it be political or just plain strange, I lean toward the just plain strange stuff myself. As for WU commentaries those are tough, I have only written 2 myself and one of them wasnt very good, good luck to you.

3. As to getting sketches on the air, most of the time your stuff will get on unless its an extremely busy week or multiple cold opens and monologues have been submitted and yours is one of them. In my experience I have only had one Cold open cut at dress, its not as cutthroat here as it is on SNL.

In ending welcome to the SNY team, your membership package will be arriving in the mail soon with stamps all over it saying "Not SNY membership package". Have fun

Jack
