It's a little late, but here's my critique.

The Bastard - a little dated (is Jennings still on his winning streak or did they stop airing that?) but still rather humorous. Conflict makes for the best humor, and I enjoyed seeing Trebek's persona when he's not on camera. The dialogue was hilarious, "I have sex with all the winners" and "the Mormons finally have something to be proud of" were the best. Great Cold opening.

Monologue - so so. Would have been better if it had been Hoffman deliviering a solo monologue, his quasi-sarcastic opening that slammed the hosting picks for the season was good. His publicists, however, did not deliver for me. Their lines were hackneyed and off key, and really diminished the quality of the monologue. If it had just been Hoffman on his own, this could have been the Jurassic Park of the summer season.

Crystaline - Woo-yeah! Another funny commercial parody! Loved it, no complaints whatsoever. Pity there was no artwork or animation to go along with it, because this would have had great visualization. And I'm not even a chemistry lover.

Spider Jam - Making fun of nerds is a tricky topic. I know, since last October I've wanted to cast Horatio Sanz as a geek trying to put a down payment on a car with rare comics and collectible cards. The interaction between the babe and the nerds just didn't cut it for me, thought. It was basically analytical and condescending, at times quite hostile, not comical.

The O' Reiley Factor - quite good, but I had problems with casting Jeff Richards. After how he left the show, I doubt he'd willingly return. My ideal picks would have been Hammond or Parnell for Bill O'Reiley, and Horatio Sanz as Michael "Baelinidarian" Moore. My only other complaints were too many grade-school level insults where the scenario would merit more witty banter. All in all, thought, an okay piece.

Just Like Home - another superbly funny piece with no complaints. Reminds me of a Scott Adams bit I read where he said he'd decorate his cubicle like a womb, and install laser sensors to release a woman's scream whenever he leaves it. It was absurd and unbelieveable, and totally hilarious.

Weather Channel - sadly, I have never seen the weather channel, so I do not have any idea who these people are, and therefore the humor was lost on me. That, and the on-air screw ups weren't that funny, and neither was the behind the scenes dialogue. My apologies, I just didn't like it.

An Address by the President - Mark has certainly been the man to go to for Bush satire, and he again pulls it off rather well. Though a Bush supporter myself, I find his treatment of our Commander in Chief very enjoyable. Surprised that he only attacked Bonnie Raitt, what with all the celebrities that have spoken out against him. The rap was amusing and totally unexpected. I can't wait to see how Mark handles Kerry and Nader (I can't really do any more coverage of Ralph, I already used up my best Nader-is-a-Nazi jokes for the Scarlett Johansen episode, so I'm tapped out.)

Well, that's it for me. We've got one last show left, and I hope that I'll finally be able to get in a complete sketch! I have a great concept with Dave Chapelle as Alan Keyes, I just pray I can get it out in time. Wish me luck.
