Well Jim it is actually a collection of one acts written by David Ives. None of the one acts relate to one another but are all very unique and for the most part funny. I definitely reccommend a purchase of it as it is a great read. As to the specific one acts that I was in they include Words, Words, Words and Variations on a Death of Trotsky. Words, Words, Words was a one act that focused around whether or not monkeys locked in a room with typewriters could produce the work of hamlet. The act basically revolves around the monkeys questioning their reason for being their as well as producing the works of hamlet. While this one was a lot of fun I had to bend down crouched like a monkey for about 20 minutes on stage which led to me having very sore knees. Despite the pain I still consider it in my top 5 of plays done. The other one act Variations on a Death of Trotsky is even odder involving a russian politician who doesnt realize that he has a pick axe lodged in the back of his brain.

So due to this he dies. But then comes back to life again and his wife tells him he has a pick axe in his brain and he dies again and so on. Trotsky also reflects on his life and what he has done and what not. This act (my only lead role ever despite being in about a dozen plays since high school) involved me dying on stage about 12 times, a couple while sitting down but mostly whilst falling down on a hard wood floor. This play involved slapstick great dialogue and dare a say a moment or two of drama. Its the best role i have ever had in my acting career. But the short answer to your question Jim is yes its a great set of one acts.
