Lonergan's Life Today

This seems like a cathartic piece. Blatantly transparent. I don't see characters or a comedy sketch. I see the writer typing with an evil grin releasing his anger against the stupid humans that populate America. This sketch is just too direct for my tastes. That being said, as always Pat's dialogue flows and he articulates himself well through his talk show guest. "I'm thinking death" was kind of a suprise and is so extreme and to the point it's funny. The Hamburger Helper observation is colorful and memorable. I think my favorite part is when the host says "if you're stupid just think about "puppy dogs and cotton candy"

I think this would work better as a WU rant. It's just not all that clever or comical to have a guy just rant about stupid people. It's just a little too elitist for me. I get tired of Mr. Show sometimes because they always target "dumb" people, or "conservatives/Christians," but I still find it very funny sometimes because they come up with hilarious ways to deliver their disgust for the average american. There was one sketch where the concept was exactly the same - "americans are so dumb," but the premise was very funny - America was convinced that in order to stay a free nation they'd have to...BLOW UP THE MOON!
