Don't forget Ani that Iran, like Iraq and for that matter Israel are all to an extent Western-made states. Before WW! none of those countries existed, Irag was a whole lot of little states, as to an extent was Iran, who had a Shah imposed on them by the western world although for centuries they had had a King anyway when it was Persia, so they all probably feel justified for hating westerners for imposing their own ideals on them, anyway nuff of that, we were talking of the Holocaust. My father was one of the first British tropps into one of them and sent all the information bck to Britain because he was the senior signaller at the time. It was something he would never talk about, the only comment he would make was that he never in his life wanted to see anything like it again. After the war he covered the Nuremberg War Trials and then went to Israel and got stabbed in the back by a Jew, having fought all through the war without a scratch. That finished him for the army and he cmme out in 46, home to hie wife and bairn and made a new life for himself. Religion is the biggest divider of people not their colour, as I found out after 2 years in Northern Ireland where Catholics could and did impose their wishes on the largely Protestant community. It's a bugger when you have to walk 4 miles into the next town to see a doctor or dentist or to get your presciption for the contraceptive pill because the doctor, dentist & chemist in your area are all Catholics and refuse to treat/serve a protestant wtih things that they are entitled to in law. It made me realise just why there was such a division there and why the Ulstermen were so opposed to becoming a united Ireland.
