For the smell of fear tonight
Wakes an ancient lust that will not be denied...
You're mine

If immortality had to be his fate, Erich would have much preferred having been born centuries before. It would have been interesting to witness his country's development, to engage in the wars and perils his people had faced through the years. Even though he felt betrayed by his country currently, he still had a fierce sense of pride for his homeland. His people were hardy souls, capable of surviving some of the harshest environments civilization had ever known. That pride had been so deeply ingrained in him that it would never be dislodged.

He had found it equally as odd when he had been sent here, to this little city nestled far in the mountains. While he'd prepared endlessly for the mission and the creatures he was to look for, he'd been surprised to find that Cascade was the territory he'd been ordered to investigate. Like Sabina, it hadn't taken long for him to figure out that the city was more than it seemed on the surface. The supernatural had seemed to outnumber the mortals by far back then...perhaps they still did. Erich had foolishly thought the mission would be an 'in and out' case in the beginning...though he'd quickly found out differently when the details he'd been ordered to collect proved difficult to obtain. "So I noticed. That fact made me get rather...careless...in the end." Careless was not a characteristic of the blonde male, but time had been winding down on the mission. He'd wanted it done, eager to return to his homeland and to be on to the next mission. That single slip in judgement had altered him forever. "While I would have preferred a different outcome, it is likely best no one had offered help. I fear for what would have happened in that situation." His country knew little restraint when it came to obtaining what they wanted--the end result would probably have been unfavorable for one or both parties.

Erich was not in the business of harming females--which not to say that he hadn't--but those times had only been under dire circumstance, and only to preserve his own life. He would no more harm her than he would have announced his occupation, back in the day. Unless, of course...she initiated, and he doubted that would be the case. His instincts were going crazy...there was no doubt about that---but for a completely different reason altogether. He sensed no danger...just that mind-clouding lust. "Very good. Judging from what I see, I will be able to put my faith in her. " He made a slight gesture to the artwork before him as he spoke.

The glass cracked further beneath the grasp of his fingertips, even though he did not realize it. He was still not used to this inhuman strength, and it was quite often that things were broken if he wasn't paying attention. That odd, clear yet blue hue of his eyes seemed to ignite when she rested her palm against the thick muscle of his wrist. The monster within was a snarling thing; just waiting for the slightest shift in Erich's control. It would take over if that happened...and the result would be disastrous. His gaze snapped to hers, the animal shining just below the surface as she spoke that single word. A low, guttural sound was his only response before the glass in his hand shattered beneath his grip.

Pieces of the glass stuck in his flesh...an annoyance more than a pain, but still enough to drive the beast back for a bit. He casually picked the shards from his flesh, watching the congealed darkness of his 'un-blood' well up in the punctures. "For the safety of the human, I would be agreeable." He finally spoke after a long pause, flexing his fingers to make sure he'd rid himself of all the broken glass. "Though I think I might be alright. For now." He was reaching for his wallet to pull out a 20 to cover the cost of the glass when the door opened, a dark tressed female entering the bar.

His change had left him with an impeccable sense of smell...and it was her scent that hit him first, and quite hard at that. Like freesias, he'd always thought...though that had never been quite right, either. After long and sweaty bouts in the sack, Erich had always thought that if the night had had a scent...it would smell like Cammie. Mysterious and sultry. It washed over him in a wave that was staggering, instantly spiking his thirst to a ravenousness he'd never experienced. If he wasn't so damn sure about the scent, he would have never believed it was her. Cammie, after all of these years. He did not know whether to be joyed by the fact or terrified...for as badly as he wanted to greet her, he also wanted to kill her.

Her hair was different, though he would have been able to see through the guise any day. He'd seen just about everything on her...it was crucial to their job, back then. His blue eyes burned like an inferno, locked on her from across the distance. He could tell that his partner had somehow evaded ending up as he had...and was immensely grateful for that. On the other hand...it made for a difficult moment. He was rapidly losing the fight against the sudden thirst, against the monster clamoring to be unleashed. "I cannot leave." He told Sabrina, voice darkly ominous. "A piece of my past has just come." He pulled his gaze from Cammie, leveling it on Sabrina momentarily. "My partner, from the homeland." His wallet bore the imprint of his fingertips, he held it so tightly. Those eerie blues shifted back to Cammie. "It has been a decade since I saw her. Yet I might kill her." He was horrendously dismayed by this, but also aware that the scent...the freesias, the night...was far too exhilarating, far too delicious to fight. He'd worked hard to prepare himself for integration into society...but he hadn't been able to prepare himself for this, a situation he'd never though he'd come across. "Cammie...." It was a warning, it was greeting...it was almost a fearful sound all at once.

For the animal's soul is mine
We will be completed right before your eyes
I have no control this time
And now we both shall dine in hell tonight
