She’d never feared Craig, she rarely feared anyone, and it’d been something that had always amazed those closest to her and worried them. She just seemed to know when to worry and when not to or had faith that when she was a judge of wrong character those that surrounded her with friendship would be there to bail her out…Craig had just proven this fact yet again. Though had an inward thought of how amusing it would have been to seen Sphinx handle the situation, they were alike, though she doubted her former bouncer would get along with her current one…too alike they seemed to be.
Concerned hazels watched the emotions flicker across her friend’s face as eyes shifted colors and back to normal once more. The shiver was felt but ignored, though the realization of how close he’d come to losing control momentarily worried her. She didn’t want him in trouble and losing control on a bunch of kids just drunk for Summer Break wouldn’t be wise. At his comment about the hand she shook her head. ”Really it’s fine…” Though protests stopped as he picked up it up, lifting it to his nose to sniff it, warm breath causing her to blush slightly.
Clearing her throat as he let her hand go Angelina nodded. ”I wish I could say I’d broken that kid’s jaw…” Muttering continuing under her breath till she realized he’d moved away from her and headed after someone going out the back exit. Long lashes blinked as she tried to see the other man’s face, his frame looked familiar but she wasn’t sure as his body was partially blocked by Craig who was handing the man what looked like his keys.
It appeared her kindness had rubbed off on the other, but then even over the music one could hear the thunder coming, they’d be getting wet in less than thirty minutes. Figuring Craig was going to take a few more saying goodbye to whomever it was he was talking to Angelina moved to straighten up both the chairs that had been knocked over then headed towards them and the bar, where the ice was. She’d have to get a mop for the spilled beer later and broken glass. She was almost to the bar when Craig moved just a little to the side and the face of who he was talking to became revealed. Lashes blinked, twice and rapidly as her mind tried to comprehend what she was seeing. Lips parted as if to speak, but no sound would come out, instead Angelina found herself sitting down at the end of the bar…away from the two talking males. It couldn’t be him…could it? It couldn’t be Stan…She’d just wait till Craig was done talking then ask him who it was, cowardly as that may seem.
