She didn't make it. Lots of surprises--BIG surprises. (Though the staples are still there: USA, Venezuela and (recently) Japan. (Sigh.) I'm not gonna lie to you, this is not gonna be a fun pageant to watch. (NT)Mike D21:31:26 07/13/08 Sun
B.O.C. need to re-invent themselves...B.O.C. it's starting to get tired of you guys sending "Natalie Glebova" replicas...it doesn't work anymore. (NT)Canada is screwed for another 20 years...03:13:14 07/14/08 Mon

I agree with you completely Johan. I think Beauties of Canada chose the wrong girl this year and last. (NT)Christine21:46:16 07/15/08 Tue
I also was not shocked Samantha didn't make top 15.. I called it last year with Inga and this year... Nothing against them, but it's a tough competition and it was a hard act to follow Natalie.. BOC has to remember that at Miss Universe facial beauty and that sparkle are the most important thing! There are tons of good bodies, well prepared girls.. but facial beauty and that extra something is what makes a Miss Universe.. Inga and Samantha didn't have it..Alice had the facial beauty, and Natalie had both. BOC has to stop with trying to create Natalie clones.. it wasn't Natalie's look that made her win, it was her whole package.. They need to find another girl that has this, and not a certain "mold". And I'm not sold on the whole "international look" that Sam had.. Canada needs to send a girl who looks born and bred Canadian. (NT)MUC Fan08:20:04 07/17/08 Thu
LETS NOT BLAME THE MUC FOR NOT CHOOSING THE RIGHT GIRLS. LETS FACE IT, CANADA DOESNT HAVE MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! (NT)sorry00:00:11 07/18/08 Fri
okay whoever thinks that canada doesn't have attractive girls is ridiculous.......being so multicultural we have one of the widest variety of beautiful women to choose from. as stated above it all comes down to the fact that interest in canadian pageants is minimal at best and few women feel they will be respected for participating in beauty pageants. for a country that is very progressive, we still have an antiquated view on pageantry. I was in mwc this past year and i found myself constantly defending my choice to participate in a pageant. Which is why we need to choose good quality queens that will represent our country well in international competition but also give a good name to pageants at home, so that the Canadian public can get behind them. Unfortunately it seems that MUC's last two choice seemed to be women they knew would be easily controlled as opposed to women like Alice and Natalie who were beautiful as well as intelligent and poised.LMN10:00:29 07/19/08 Sat
I believe, that controversy started here with the statement "Born and bred Canadian". That is just ridiculous. I agree that we should not blame MUC for non-placement at Miss Universe. Remember, MUC is just one person – national director, who does not personally select a national winner, he selects candidates to participate in the pageant. The panel of Canadian judges makes a choice for the winner and they failed to make a right choice in 2004 and 2007, but there was no choice for 2008 – now you can blame MUC for poor selection of candidates in 2008.
