I have experienced this first hand, though it is consistently coming from parents and teachers from a large Sydney school. Perhaps if the teachers themselves weren’t encouraging it it wouldn’t carry on. To these teachers -stop breeding unhealthy behaviors like allowing your students to chant other children’s numbers during presentations, willing it to be called before your dancer. Ridiculous, so unprofessional on your behalf.
