It's not just the teachers who have to pay extra if not in the hotel block, it's everyone who does not live in Ireland. I looked at one hotel and the triple room was 330 Euros per night, which is about $525 per night, what a joke! It would be way cheaper to stay with family and then just the dancer and one parent go on the day they dance and pay the extra fee, you would be well in front. Although that's probably what they want you to do, saw a comment on the original post saying that CLRG gets €15 kickback for every hotel night booked, but they will get €75 (parent and child) if they don't stay in block. So maybe there is an ulterior motive behind making the rooms so expensive. Also saw the original facebook post before it was quickly taken down which had an Irish TC commenting on how great it was that the "Stupid Yanks" could finance the whole deal whilst they stayed for free.
