Subject: I think you just have to go and dance and what will be will be. Hopefully there will be enough Ad's who don't take out whole schools if they judge and hopefully the borders will be open so we can all go.

  • As much as a teacher espouses they are impartial towards their former dancers, there are some (not all) teachers who have neither the required maturity or grace to move on. When a dancer transfers schools the root cause is mostly due to the teacher. You can't tell me that a former teacher acting as an adjudicator will consciously be unprejudiced when they have been heard stating "No one improves when they leave me" - they are acutely aware of their former dancers’ weaknesses and will more than likely focus on them, and not the actual dancing as a whole (see more inside). -- Sceptical, Fri, Apr 09 2021, 17:38:38"
  • Ooops - I meant Irish Dancing cannot be judged OBJECTIVELY in the “see more inside”. It is completely subjective, therefore bias definitely comes into play (NT) -- Sceptical, Fri, Apr 09 2021, 21:16:20"
  • yes totally agree - so many guidelines for dancers and parents...what about for these sorts of behaviours and attitudes? (NT) -- Post COVID I believe many choose not to tolerate these attitudes anymore, Sun, Apr 11 2021, 22:22:30"
