I think it’s time organisers realise that kids in years 11 and 12 and then onwards at UNI cannot take time out of their studies. The workload is too hard to miss classes. Reconsider when all majors are on. Having nationals right before grade 12 exams is not ok. Why can’t we have more events in December and January during the summer school holidays.

While I understand where you are coming from, final exams are one year of your life. Having a state/nationals in December when there are end of year presentations/concerts, school presentation evenings, Christmas parties and everything else that happens is really tough on families, particularly if there are siblings involved in other activities.   - Not at all. What I am saying is that each year there will be a small group of dancers that will have important exams. For some, they will prioritise exams and not dance that year. On the other hand, every family involved in dancing will have end of year social events (presentations, concerts etc.) Many will have other children involved in activities with their own end of year presentations. Missing a Christmas party one year isn’t significant. But having to miss out every year has an impact. We have just come through Covid - we know the importance of communities and social interactions.
