Subject: Sad update on photos from 20-21 Years presentations.
In reply to: Milton Baar 's message, "Australian Nationals Irish Dancing Presentation photos now available on www.swoose.net" on Tue, Sep 30 2025, 22:58:11"

The individual photos for that section are not available. It is not because they weren't taken, it is not because the card is corrupt. It is because an almost new Canon R5 MkII failed to record the images even though the shutter was pressed.

The same type of failure occurred during action shots. I believe I have "lost", because the camera failed to write to the card, about 50% of the most spectacular shots.

I have been fighting with Canon Australia since March this year and they consider other failures in I have experienced with this camera acceptable, but I don't. This is just another one.

It is a $5000 camera that doesn't work and Canon Australia has no solution. Therefore I will probably start an ACCC/NSW Fair Trading claim.

I'm sorry that the photos aren't there and camera failure is no excuse.

  • Canon R5MkII update: Canon have graciously agreed to replace the clearly faulty camera with a new one, thank you Canon. (NT) -- Milton Baar, Thu, Oct 09 2025, 15:24:44"
