I have found through gossip and observation that the perception of moving schools is highly frowned upon. However I think teachers that are rude and unprofessional towards students that want to change schools stems from an origin of jealousy. A school is a business, and much like any business, if you are unhappy with the product ,you do not continue buying it. Teachers must realise that people move for a variety of reasons, maybe they wanted more classes, or maybe they can’t make the hour long trip to class every week, unfortunately sometimes it may be due to pure negligence and poor teaching. However it is in no way an excuse to exile and humiliate students who still want to love and enjoy dance. At the end of the day it is never that serious, it’s Irish dancing for gods sake. Behaviour like this is why the dance scene has shrunk. Grow up and show some humanity.
