I’m really tired considering I pulled an all nighter with Reggie again last night. I love Reggie, I think. Tonight we’re going on a date. We’ve dated five months and this is our second date. Nicole was here first sitting with Darius and me on the couch in the den. Darius thinks he like Nicole. He needs to gon’ somewhere. I truly get sick of him all up on my friends. It’s a shame. I don’t know, but I think they flirt sometimes and Nicole doesn’t even realize it. To me, that’s nasty. I mean he’s my stank brotha’. “You think Ro will show up today?” Nicole asked taking a sip of her iced tea I served.
“She might. I hope she does. I left tha’ girl a zillion messages on her machine,” I replied pinching Darius on his back. He never get the hint to go away. Lyla walked in ten minutes later. I laid out on the couch laying on Nicole’s legs. I was really hoping Roshay would…
“Ding, dong, ding, dong…” We all froze, but Darius ran to the door to answer it. He came back in and Lyla was following him.
“Don’t scare us like that.I thought you was Roshay” I told Lyla as she laughed flopping on the couch across from us. She finally got her hair redone in freaked out cornrows. The doorbell began to ring again. We all held a breath and Darius ran to the door one more time. “Hey girl what’s up?” He said hugging her.
“Where er’body at?”
“Right in the living room…” He replied. I knew it had to be Roshay. I could hear her chain African beads on her neck. She had her arm around Darius and put her hand up before we could all blurt out words. “Before any of you say anything with all that “I’m sorry” “I miss you” and all that crap I have something to say. Yall really hurt my feeling. I can’t believe yall came up with some lame crap like that. I didn’t wanna come back. I really didn’t because I know I could probably be better off without the group drama and criticism. I realized that I love you guys. Yall my friends, my dawgs, and after all we been through I couldn't continue to be mad at yall. I can forgive. So forget the sympathy train and let’s go to work,” She announced walking back towards the garage door where we practice at.
“Actually Ro I do want to apologize because that was so stupid on behalf of me and the rest of us. I really do want you to be lead. We’ve talked about it and I really do want you to. I was being envious of your voice and I was being ridiculous. I’m sorry girl” Lyla laughed going ot give Roshay a hug sympathetically. Mama was walking into the den and I looked over at her. See, she didn’t have no reason to think that way of Lyla. Lyla ain’t like that.
“I guess she spoke on the behalf of me to Shay. I’m sorry girl. I really am,” I said after Lyla.
“It’s alright. I’m not bigging about it. It’s over and I’m good to go. Let’s go on out you guys,” Roshay directed and Nicole, Lyla, and I followed her out to the garage. Finally Dynasty was back in effect.
