A friend of mine owns a Trapper 501 and sails it keenly despite being totally unsighted. I have been helping him out with winter maintenance and have had (among others)the job of repainting the red line along the top-sides. There is of course a groove in the moulding, which I am painting. At the aft end on both sides the moudling groove goes off into a shape which we suspect is a Trapper logo. But we can't make out what it is.

Owner says that he tried (in 1970 or so)to find a Trapper sail mark to put on his sails but the makers did not have one.

SO - Question, Please.

What is the strange shape at the after end of the red line groove and do you know of a Trapper logo or sail mark ?

Boat is Pulcherrimma which lives at Titchmarsh near Walton on Naze

Ideas, please.
