We also saw the mast raising kit. Henry rang Compass and the guy who actually designed and builds the kit rang back and explained it. He is a trailer sailor himself, and was very helpful. It can be used either as a derrick or as an A frame.
So we've taken the plunge and ordered one. Apparently if it doesn't work for us we can return it and get a refund within 14 days anyway. We want to trail and sail and have a mast raising method that we can do easily and without worrying ... certainly not the case with our current method. We will let you know how we get on with it.
