Many thanks for the contributions and advice above.
Being an Aries I went ahead and bought one anyway, which is on the way I hope.
The reason for changing if one of safety. I had cleaned out the burners and make new grill supports, but there was always the nag that there was no failure device on the rings or grill.
Regarding Corgi approved. I had by fire installed at home with a Corgi (British Gas) and it leaked into the room until I tightened the connectors myself, and not even a word of apology in receipt of my complaints.

If anyone is ever Dover way, look me up on Cbeagle2.
