Thanks for the advice about keel bolts. I did say that if anyone found them cheaper, I didn't want to know! Actually the fabricators had already sourced them and were (almost) as shocked as I was. I think they had the same problem you encountered since I insisted on A4 grade, hence getting them specially made. However, the job is done, the keel is back in and I hope I don't have to do it again. Next time should be easier though!
Other owners were asking about details of the bolt:
• Half inch BSW (British Standard Whitworth) Thread
• Two and a half inches in length from the underside of the head to the end.

I understand this is how you measure a bolt length, though really I think they are set screws.

Unfortunately the info about the chap who makes them in stainless came just too late. Next time I'll try the forum first!
