I'd be surprised if people were not voting because they see it as a popularity contest, I've done my best to dissuade them of this notion. Yes I was, rightly I believe, pissed off that somebody should be so dismissive without having the courtesy to contact me direct and yes, I'm fairly cynical about offers of help as I've had so many in the past which came to nothing.

I think the new format could be a useful thing, and I'm waiting to see if it is what people want. I won't be taking up Tony's kind offer of hosting it though, I have a preference for a more independent route which would be based around accepting technical help where it was offered but not committing anybody to long term support. I'd be very pleased to accept Tony's help in achieving this.

My view is that I would like to see a greater chance for member interaction through both the forum and the website. To this end I propose to move the site to a new host that will offer php and other new whizzbangs that have become far more readily available since the site was originally set up around 8 years ago.

I recognise that membership registration does appear to be a bar to people joining in, which is a shame as I thought that might have been a way ahead.

Perhaps there is an option for a members area even if most of the site is open to all. I just thought the members area could offer a lot more interraction without the problems of spam or trolls.

So..... don't delay, tell us what you think!
