Author: Was fun
Subject: Well how was anyone to know that one could tickle 1250 with a 565 conv headed cast intake single carb big block. It was cool and everyone of them bad ass motors was within the rules. Everytime a rule change came down the pipe to make it "cheaper" and make others more competitive, it never worked. The dedicated teams and engine builders and parts manufacturers kept pushing the envelope. Its true like DH says, TPSA rewrote the book on conventional big block chevy heads. If you want to keep "affordable" better make it SPEC, CRATE and CLAIMER, or the ones that bust their butts testing and working on stuff will always rise to the top. Hell the motor that left there holding the record wasnt even the one that prints big numbers on dyno, also takes car setup and lots of laps.
In reply to: agent 660 's message, "Breaking News!.... The Swindoll family is reporting that Charlie Swindoll purchased Joe Pigford's car (running) Saturday. Charlie plans to join Joe in the T/S ranks and Joe will move over to brother Roy's car. Joe's car is a proven 7.0 @ 190 hitter so Charlie will have a very competitive combo right from the git go." on 06/10/12 11:23am
