There are a lot of excellent distance coaches in the OUAA (CIAU for the matter) but it is very difficult to be competitive with Scott-Thomas and Fairall since most, if not all, are not full time paid coaches. Amount of time to commit to coaching is then a factor. As a result, recruiting takes the backburner to actually coaching the athletes presently at their schools.
