In reply to: Ravin and Marz 's message, "Mass destruction" on 10:09:15 01/28/02 Mon

Sarosh felt a certain amount of annoyance when Ravin up and left him for a bath. What wa he? Chopped liver? Here he was, being emotional and revealing his short-comings to man who he was beginning to think was quite ungrateful. Well, maybe not ungrateful. But every time he got Saras to start talking, he had to go off and do something. Or he brought up the blasted Flask, which he was sure Ravin was doing now just to spite him. It was becoming a bit annoying. At least Jeremy would pay rapt attention to what he had to say…

Saraosh turned his attention to his friend and listened as the youth mumbled something about Tristan. While he was listening to Jeremy, he helped himself to another of the spongy cake-things that the boy had. Sarosh had always liked Cake, and there was something especially tasty about it, that let him forget about his problems for a while. It was like it was magical super-tasty cake. It made the empty magic spot inside go away for a little while. At least, as long as he kept munching. And Jeremy didn't seem to mind sharing it with him. He was half finished the golden cake thing, when he turned his head at Ravin’s call. The Genie had an overwhelming instinct to hear the man, tho he didn’t think he would have had a hard time hearing him shout out "ASSASSINS!!" even if he didn’t have himself tuned into Ravin.

Even as Sarosh picked himself up from the ground, with the intention to do something he heard Marz cry out in agony, before thunder began to rain down on them. Knowing they weren’t safe where they were, Sarosh went to help Marz, knowing he couldn’t stay here any more then the rest of them should. He should have been on his way to help Ravin, but he couldn’t leave the youth here, and Marz was closer. Possibly, also, on the way towards Ravin. It wouldn’t do to just abandon the youth.

"LOOK OUT!"

Glancing up in surprise, even as smallish branches rained down, Saras froze, his pretty eyes widening in horror at the large tree trunk. His mouth opened slightly as he realized that it was going to come crashing down on not just him, but on Marz, and probably Jeremy as well. Saras didn’t think he could move fast enough to get away. Or if he managed to get out of the trunk’s way, there was still the question of the many branches that crowned the massive tree. The tree trunk would crush him, but the branches could also do quite a bit of damage. The tree seemed to fall painfully slowly, but it wasn’t just the tree. Everything was moving slowly.

Not knowing what else to do, Sarosh began to whisper the words to summon the fire. His terror, and the Twinkies he’d been munching on before hand let him reach over enough to manipulate the happily oblivious and content fire crackling away in the fire-pit. From the fire, a large flaming creature appeared. It was easily three sizes larger then Sarosh, and caught the tree deftly in hands of fire. It only lasted long enough tocach and redirect the falling tree before evaporating into the sky, and extinguishing the fire as it vanished.

Surprised with himself, Sarosh stared at where the Iffrit had been. He hadn’t been able to summon one of the fire beasts since…well.. Since the incident which had gotten him into trouble and stripped of his power. His magic had been either taken away or diluted enough that he hadn’t thought it possibly to do more then call upon the little flames. Apparently he could call the little fire’s big and meaner brother if he needed to as well…although he hadn’t yet realized that it was Jeremy’s sugary food which gave him the fuel to do so.

Saras felt Jeremy at his side, his words lost as Saras fought to not pass out. He managed to succeed in not passing out, but fell to his knees, hardly noticing the lightening that was still striking around him. He could still her Jeremy’s voice, but was feeling too Ill to focus in on it. Like granting Ravin’s wish, his use of Magic left him feeling horrible and empty inside. Only this time it was much worse then before. He had used far more magic, but had also not eaten nearly as much since the time he granted the wish. He felt Jeremy’s arms slide around him and haul him up, dragging him off to what he hoped was safety. At least, he hoped it was Jeremy. He was having a bit of trouble keeping the world from spinning and staying in focus.
