The way I look at it, Alia was an Atreides, and preborn. It is said that a RM is terrified of the male side of OM. But it doesn't really say that it is impossible for perhaps one male ancestor to gain a place within other memory. The male side is there within the RM but she is too terrified to look at it. The Barron could have found a way to slip through. Perhaps(and please remember this is just stupid speculation!) The Barrons brain was hardwired closer to a femal due to his homosexual tendencies?

Also, there was no sharing of OM for Leto and Ghanima. They rely solely on their ancestral memories. Perhaps it takes one longer to see the ancestral memories than to see shared memories. After all, Shared memories are used to being heard. Ancesteral memories may take a while to wake up.

Just some thoughts.
