Dont remember hearing about this last year, but it could be an interesting read. Email sent out to students:

Basketball season is upon us, and The Duquesne Duke is getting you ready for another year of Dukes basketball!

This Thursdays Special Basketball Preview edition of The Duke will have all the coverage you need to get you ready for mens and womens hoops action, including coverage of:

" " With the basketball programs new deal with Clear Channel Radio and the mens team playing four games at Consol Energy Center this year, the basketball program is gunning for a bigger share of the public eye. What does this mean for the future of Duquesne basketball?

Actually the idea of a basketball preview goes back to when John Clayton was the sports editor. My senior year, the ad manager came up with enough money and we were able to do a full color cover. Great shot of Bruce Atkins. I know, times have changed and it doesn't sound like much, but in '79-'80 it was a big deal. We went NY Daily News style, big pic and headline.
