In reply to: CLK 's message, "Not sure how much it proved, but it is read, as is your forum. In both basketball & football the thing that will be noticed the most is winning. My cousin was an All American on DU's Iron Dukes 1941 undefeated team. I believe I read on your forum that if the BCS system was in effect at that time DU would have been ranked #1. We will never be at that level again, but there is a lot of history behind DU football, and I look for DU to be a consistent challenger in their league as the get more scholarship players. It is in our blood." on Monday, September 06, 06:47:11pm

Is your cousin or others still around? He'd have to be alt least in his late 80's. I'd love to hear some of the stories from that team. It would make a great story to honor them at a halftime. Duquesne shut down both football and basketball during WW II when both were national powers. Basketball came back, football is making slow progress from a club team, to D-III, to Non-Scholarship FCS to scholarship FCS. They are even playing the same Delaware team that Pitt just put on their schedule twice in the next few seasons.
