g'day vernon you missed a couple!. mossel bay walvis bay, and las palmas on the way out. we anchored in mossel bay on the way home(kenilworth castle) and the passengers were lowered down in a big basket on to a lighter.the mate started fishing and hit a school of mackerel. he organised a team to fish, a team to clean and gut and a team to pack in ice and carry below. we lived on mackerel all the way to belfast. she was not on a regular run and only carried twelve passengers. we picked up fish meal in walvis bay and only had alimited time to get to belfast. apparently it was very explosive if kept confined too long. cheers.alf
