In the living room and bedroom, I've used cute quilts clipped (again) to drapery rings. It works great for privacy and also light and climate control. I'm thinking about doing something different in the living room and our bedroom - - - - - - but I don't know what!! Crystal, I'd love to see your pictures. There's a house in our neighborhood that has shutters on the lower half of the windows only, like you, but they have a valance. To me, in my house, at least, that's just another term for a dust-catcher. I love to have the windows open and the whole house fan on but it does tend to make things a bit dusty. I've given shutters a good deal of thought because they're pretty much indestructible with cats.
