My FIL's tests came back. The cancer is in his bone marrow and lungs. He's also not tolerating the chemo. They had to stop to build his blood cells back up, then will try radiation. We're going out tomorrow to help them with a few things. They are trying to get all their affairs in order. -- Piggy's Pad

He's 74. Danny has an older brother and sister, and a younger brother. He's only close with his sister tho. They all get along, but he and his sister are the closest. I'm sorry to hear this too, Vicki, but at least he has some time to get things taken care of and cleaned up. And that's so important. My parents had plenty of time to plan (and my dad was almost obsessive about planning) but when he got sick and my mother was totally unable to cope, I was amazed at the mess we had to clean up. I would have thought that they would have stayed on top of things, especially since this was their retirement home, but there was so much *stuff.* And the attic was full. Explain to me, please, why someone would keep a lawnmower engine? Not the entire mower, just the engine. I guess Dad felt that he'd get to it "one day" but as we all know, one day almost never comes. A person has to be realistic. That's part of the reason why I've become almost obsessed with minimalism. I never want to put my kids through that. I do hope they can get his red cell count up again. Are they going to use that injectible medication? Shoot, I can't remember the name of it right now. My girlfriend, Janet, had that injection and it made her so incredibly sick for 3 days. She said the chemo was a breeze next to that shot. But I hope they can find a regimen of something that will work for him and give him more time. Prayers and a comforting hug to all of you for going through this. Thanks hon. They are having to be uber careful cuz of his kidney failure and heart problems. They have him on a high-protein diet right now, and he's feeling better.
