Thank God for Friday!! But I just destroyed any chance to sleep in. Cricket's puking again so I picked him up and checked his mouth.........Uh-Oh! Red and ulcerated. So, we have an 8:45 a.m. appointment tomorrow for a depo-medrol shot and then on Monday, I'll be a basket case along with Denise. Cricket's going in at 7:30 a.m. for the lasering and X-rays to see if there are any missed tooth roots that are causing this problem. If so, they'll (OMG) slit his gums open and dig the roots out. Poor baby. I'm so hoping we're doing the right thing but this Lymphocytic Plasmacytic Stomatitis is such a sneaky, horrible disease to try and treat. If this doesn't work, I don't even want to think of where we'll go from here. But I'm trying to stay positive and really pray this does the trick. So, does anyone have anything GOOD going on this weekend? If so, share ---- so the rest of us can live vicariously through you!! But still, have a good Friday. -- Piggy's Pad

Oh no...poor Cricket....I'm so glad though you can get him into the vet's first thing in the morning Sandy.....
stupid question here...if they do find pieces of tooth and have to cut his gums, will he still need the laser treatment?

Sandy, please don't second guess whether this is the right decision having this procedure done....follow your heart and your instincts...they very rarely steer you wrong....plus your Vet sounds wonderful and very understanding....he wouldn't have brought this procedure up if he didn't think it had a chance to help Cricket.....I'll be "holding your hand" long distance..... Oh yech Sandy! Wish I had a magic wand! since this is an immune thing, check out Transfer Factor, I swear by it cause if made Bogie not need Cush meds (chemo drugs) anymore and I am thankful for that. I take it and use it for the diabetics and the FIV guy is gonna get it now too. The have a pet product but vets that have used it start with the Advance Plus formula. I get mine from a guy in eBay for less than any other place. I hope the x-rays show something cause getting the roots out sounds awful but better than the alternative! Denise, by "Cush" meds, do you mean meds for Cushings Disease? And you also mentioned Chemo drugs...am I understanding things right, is Cushings Disease a form of cancer? Cush meds is Cushings. Bogie has atypical Cushings. Lysodren is a chemo drug used to damage the adrenal gland to cause it to not produce so much cortisol, that's is what normal Cushings is. I remember when I FINALLY found out that Sam had Cushings...my old vet did tell me that sometimes the meds to treat it were actually worse than the disease itself....but I still wish he would've given me the chance to decide that for myself.....oh well, water under the bridge by now, but, as you can tell, I'll never forgive him for his treatment (or should I say "non-treatment") of Sam and my concerns....
