i find it funny sometimes how quickly feelings seem to grow
a year ago we barely spoke more than a couple words or so
i think back on those nights i was with you, i wish time would of froze
so we could hold each other in a tight grip don�t ever let me go
as i write this i expose the softer side to a jagged edge
what was once a dead leaf has risen to life once again
under the suns strong beams allow me to bleed through my pen
and create something special from my heart, for more than just a friend
i don�t know about you but in the beginning i definitely had my doubts
i still do but it�s overpowered by the thought of forever being without
a precious gift like you should be forever shrouded in secrecy
because if the rumor got out, every man would try to compete to be
the one you call when in need of a place to relax and feel at ease
so when you think of me, smile, cause i�m there sitting on your shoulder
waiting patiently for you to call to arms the presence of a soldier
love is my battlefield and so far i�ve lost many wars
there�s plenty more still in store for one of loves lost explorers
so rest your head on my chest and let my heart sing the chorus
i�m sure it�s been said before but your body and mind are both gorgeous
allow me the priviledge of holding your hand as we step through lifes forest
now kiss me and tell me secretly how much you truely care
don�t ever think for a moment when you need me i won�t rush to be there
i�ll be waiting in your dreams girl in fact i�m already here.
i miss you more than ever as i write this shedding centuries of tears.
