Life is not what it claims to be
it's the reciprical, it's death you see
it's a parasite that feeds constantly
a hex cursed upon you and me

we are told to embrace it
but what's the use
I know what i desire
what's its excuse

"hurry up, make up your mind," I say
it's much easier to anticipate the day
when life leaves the body and all that remains
is flesh, bones, and scrambled brains

so i guess that's it
that's what my hope will be
nothing in this life but vanity
to pester and to ask constantly
for this parasite of life to leave
