the skies began to dim as the sun sunk, what's done can't be un-done
wit that logic locked in her mind she picked up her young son
placin him firmly in her lap, firmly in her grasp
her gaze lost in the moon by the earnestness of this task
then thoughts journeyed back to the place that was
the origin of this thing that had came to come, when their lives were changed
it arrived on a day when the skies were gray
and as the seal broke on this sealed note their cries were tamed
this would decide the fate, and plot the future of the sole seed she spawed
as the scroll unfolded both breathings stopped
their hope exposed as emotion leaked from their hearts
and the letter turned out to read what they thought it would not, the news struck
like lightnin on silent grounds in a desolate country, dumbstruck
so there the stood in awe of their luck, as we journey back to the present
child sittin in the lap of his parent
crickets chirpin in the grass just past the terrace
both mind filled wit confused thoughts like mass hysterics, the minute grew near
mother and son new this was best but both were froze in an infinite fear
she was all that he had, and likewise the vice-versa was true
how could he leave her alone, what would she do
and all he'd ever known was this poor lil home
could he even make it on his own
or would he crumble under the stress of the globe
for some reason he couldn't confess the worries that dwelled in his dome
so he just kissed her goodbye, replyin "I love ya momma"
thinkin....it's funny how the knowledge of college acceptance could cause such drama!
