You are probably not familar with OT concerning women.

The Bible treated women really bad. I wouldn't call that 'protection'.

For example, if a woman was raped and she called out, she wouldn't got punish, but she have to marry her rapist.

But if she didn't cry out, she would be punished along with the rapist.

Also, OT called women who are on their period as 'unclean'. The same go for women who gave birth, and if she gave birth to a 'daughter' would be considered unclean longer than if she gave birth to a son.

Are you kidding? Of course there are a lot of church going sexists who wouldn't treat his wife with 'love' but use the scripture to demand her obedience.

Who do you think all these wife beaters are? Many of them are church goers. Going to church or believing in God wouldn't change sexist men into good men. Especially when some of the preaching in church are still digustingly sexist.
