" Way to go Colten!!! -- Sonny, 22:54:15 06/11/07 Mon (12-214-51-77.client.mchsi.com/12.214.51.77)

I've got nothing against the Briggss, but I got to give a "WAY TO GO" to Colten Cottle. He's running a Yamer-Hammer against a feild of TOUGH Briggs. Colten and his dad have been dialing their car in, and Colten pulled off a heat race win, and a second place in the feature!! Way to go, Little Man!! Keep it Up!
By the way, he did all that on one of the worst tracks I've seen at Coles County in a long time.
EASY Everyone...IT'S OK...I can bad mouth the track, it was my fault...SORRY GUYS...But Hey...Good news, Mickey will be back this week!! Hope he brings his magic hat, he'll need it. That track is a mess. Thanks to Billy, we were able to put together something that resembled a track. I was gettin real worried about 5:30pm. Like Him, Love Him, or Hate Him, we would have all went home with no racing had Billy not helped out!! Thanks. See ya all later! Sonny

" What is the NMMA planning? to make the NMMA what it used to be -- Rick Odum, 19:28:36 05/28/07 Mon (NoHost/216.189.209.110)

I don't like to post mainly because someone will always try to turn it around and use it against you. But I feel this should be asked. What is the NMMA planning, to get the NMMA back on its feet? Has the NMMA thought about renting a track somewhere and putting on their own large dollar purse? Start supporting racers by supporting their own members at certain tracks across the USA? I'm no brain surgeon by any means, but for the NMMA TO BE REVIVED, PLANS HAVE TO BE MADE. THEY DON'T JUST HAPPEN.

So Joe, as this thread originally stated, What are the plans? Convince me to join. Is the whole regional/national point system going to be revamped? Is the NMMA planning a big member drive at the Tulsa shootout in December. What tracks are on Board for next year?

Take a good look and study existing santioning organizations that are successful and even growing, find out their structure then the right people form the new NMMA.Start an aggressive membership drive, along with sanctioning of tracks (open to all)your back in business. Keep it simple as possible.Throw away and burn all the old rules,laws,bi-laws, talk to the racers to find out what they want then try it. Keep the Board member # low as can be.No perm members at ALL. Make the classes Jr-sprints,3/4" or 7/8"restrictors (one or the other),a-class,multi,no-wing(stock),mini late model. This is just a rough format,Im good but I dont have all the answers. As a former member I just hope to give some ideas, maybe this org will revive soon,if it dont micro racing cant live without a major sanctioning body around this includes the outlaw tracks that parallel their rules to sanction rules. BTW It will only work with honest, race caring peoples in place, and a mountain of hard work by dedicated folks.

" Jr. class free fuel -- Jeff, 10:39:22 06/07/07 Thu (NoHost/216.124.141.231)

I have spoken with VP racing regarding providing free fuel to the Jr. class and effective immediately, there will no longer be free fuel due to the recent Jr. wide open rule change. This free fuel was being promoted when there were specific rules and only the KT-100 Yamahas were allowed to run, but because of the rule change, there will be no more.

Why was VP going to give free fuel only to the KT100? Looks like it is bad public relations to pick out only one group to give free fuel to. Just curious as to why it is for wayne county only? Could it be because the past president is out for revenge? I thought he resigned because it was to far to come and be president.

>>I am not going to go into detail why I resigned, but the distance to the track had very little to do with it. As for the fuel deal, it took alot of talking and as a VP dealer I bought quite abit of fuel which helped to get this done. It was all to try to have an equal class, using only one fuel, which VP did to promote only their fuel in this class. Believe me the fuel deal didn't come easy. I spoke to VP today because of an email I recieved asking about the free fuel. I explained to them that the rules had been changed and are not the same way that they were in the beginning when they agreed to this.

LISTEN ED, Heres the story, I have been hanging around a NMMA track for a couple years. I have heard about alot of issues about the national organization. This year we are racing and have joined our local track to support it. I listened to a discussion at a track meeting about the benefits to joining the NMMA even though not even one track is running under its sanctions. I would join, to promote the sport, if I thought the correct procedures were being followed in this situation. The organizaztion belongs to its members.

I would also think that any member or past member would be interested in finding out if any of their money had made it way into the wrong hands. I dont know who you are, but maybe you know the answer already. I think any bad news now would be the last breath of the NMMA. I think there needs to be some kind of national organization to make it easier to travel to different tracks. Not only to race, but to also promote the sport. As it is now, it seems different tracks are using different rules making it hard to do this. This argument could go on forever.

I would be pushing the issue alot harder if i was a current member, The president, vice president and board members owe it to the NMMA members to have the books gone through and make the results known. What are they, or you trying to hide?? The past Sec/Tres has been accused of some pretty serious crimes. I am not judging her, but asking if an audit of an organization that I would like to join has been completed and what the results were. As a perspective member these are my questions. As each day goes by, I understand more and more how your 50 year old organization has met its downfall.

So, until someone really does a good job of persueding me to join, the application will sit on the corner of my desk, filled out with envelope addressed.

BY THE WAY, YOU SHOULD QUIT YELLING!

" Poll question -- Sonny, 09:08:56 05/28/07 Mon (12-214-51-77.client.mchsi.com/12.214.51.77)

Please don't ridicule me for this question. I'm not trying to start trouble.....Just wondering what others think. Read over it, think through it, then leave your opinion.
Coles county had their money race sat. They did a great job with prerace prep, the race was running quickly and smoothly, then nature took over, and it was rained out. The features were lined up(with the exception of the first two rows, they had not yet run the dash nor had the "B" main [that's right I said "B" main and coles county in the same sentence, there was a good turn out]). anyway---
#1 Consider the current cost of fuel.
#2 Consider the number of "Big" races and money races scheduled throughout the season, so with a rain delay and consequent resheduling may cause schedule conflict with others' plans to attend another venue.
#3 Consider that some micro racers are not running exclusively at any one track these days. So they have plans are made to run here there and everywhere.
#4 Consider the heat races were all run and the feature line up set, except for the "B" main.
Here's the question....
What would be the harm in paying the racers on how the feature was supposed to start?
No rescheduling, no do overs, no refunds, the race was rain shortened, so heres the results. This would only be fair in cases where the feature was set.
There you have it....Let everyone know what you think.......unless you think I'm an idiot, then noone wants to know that...Sonny

I think thats a fair question and one that needs to be addressed. For one, I would ask this - At what point do you call the race. In other words, how many race/heats do you need to have in before you call it a race and pay out? If you only have one heat in, what do you do? Call off the night and reschedule the entire event? This is what would be the most common thing to do. At any rate, I think there needs to be something in writing that states what the plans are for a rainout. This could be put on the application form and on the promotion sheets for this particular event and this would then eliminate the fact that some of the racers "did not know" thats what would happen. Just my thoughts. Thanks

What about the fans that came to see their favorite driver ? You would be robbing them of what they came to see.

The heats and dashes are preliminary, the "Feature" is called that for a reason. Any "true" racer wants to race against their competitors, not be awarded a position due to default.

Name any motorsport don't conclude the event until they have raced 1 lap past the 1/2 way point of the feature.

I understand what you are saying, but the big picture is what matter's. Everyone who makes a trip somewhere know's that a rain out is a possibility, especially this weekend. I think there were a lot of tracks that got rained out in multiple types of dirt track racing this weekend. I have never heard of anyone paying out based on how the feature was lined up, due to rain. I think Mike is right and the race should be run before anything is paid out just because, as a racer myself, I want my shot at that money! I know gas is expensive, but that is part of racing. If I was running at Pike County or somewhere like that and I was set to start the feature you can bet your butt I'm goin back the next weekend for my shot at that money. I know that right now 2-3 hours away is all I can afford to go to race so goin back the next weekend isn't that big of a deal(We are a small operation compared to most racer's). I have talked to a couple of guy's that live in Indiana and they are definitely comin back to go after that money. I'm sure it would be a great idea if your the one sitting on the pole for the feature, although that's not very fair too anyone sitting in the middle of the pack wanting their shot at that money, especially the fan's of those other driver's.
On a different note I really have to give a shout out to Mike and all the people who helped get that track ready for that race. My part in getting K.C. Summer's too sponsor it was minimal compared to what everyone else did too make sure that each driver had a good race and had fun at the same time. Great job folk's!

That cuts are exspences just thank of the $$$ saved and no chance of getting your car wrecked by being in the way of someone in a big hurry to get to the front. Just a thought. My self i have more concern in another issue . I thought we were running in a 600 class. but i must of not been reading the fine print on what a 600 motor is. " Keizer Aluminum Wheels invitational & the Worthington Nationals! -- Wade Huisman, 16:18:30 05/16/07 Wed (74-33-159-89.br2.fod.ia.frontiernet.net/74.33.159.89)

Keizer Aluminum Wheels invitational & the Worthington Nationals!
June 30, 2007 Worthington Minnesota http://www.noblescountyspeedway.net/ Nobles County Speedway

We had such a blast helping promote the start of Jason Newman's big Race4life nonwing challenge that we have decided to hold our own Keizer wheels venue. Hopefully it works out & we can do this yearly. Everyone is invited to run the Worthington nationals and the first annual Keizer wheels invitational. It is a Outlaw Winged race with full open rules including the tires. June 30 is the date & it will hold a $500 to win(Possibly more) with pay to the field that's based on car count. Should be a blast. Hope everyone can attend & your all invited! We will be having a open house at keizer Racing wheels in Orange City the Morning of the race so everyone can get a tour of our plant & see how we do things. If you've ever wondered, come check it out. Any questions please let me know. I hopefully will have some sort of flyer put together next week explaining everything more in depth. kaw@mtcnet.net

" Wayne County Speedway -- Doc Chuck, 01:40:38 05/11/07 Fri (161-72.wireless.mvn.net/66.232.161.72)

Bryce,

Thanks for your comments. I personally saw more smiles and happy people at Wayne County Speedway than I have ever seen. And we know we can improve upon last weeks NO DUST track to make racing even better.

I want to thank Jeff Montgomery along with Ken Brown and Jim Siner from O'Reilly POWERi for leading our club to "The New Wayne County Speedway". It was a big step for WCS to leave our previous sanctioning body and move forward for todays 600 Micro sprint racer. It takes a tremendous amount of volunteer effort to run a speedway and Jeff gave a huge amount of this in leading us forward after the fall of our previous sanctioning body.

O'Reilly POWERi has helped us develop a form of 600 Micro Sprint racing that is fun and competitive. A "very minimal rule" concept was new this past Friday evening to Wayne County Speedway and it was a happy exciting place with racers from multiple states competing and having fun.

Bryce, thanks again for your comments.

Doc Chuck

You got that right!!! Mike Stirrett did a great prep job on the track! We ran Rd12's all night and just fuzzed them in the open class. We had a great night going with John doing an awesome driving job as usual, until the motor let go running the top coming thru 3&4 running 3rd in the feature, had just pulled a double slide job just before that!!!! Good thing for Jimmy that it did not happen then, that would have been ugly! Oh well that's why they call it racing....

Everyone who is maybe setting back to see how this track is going to pan out, all I can say is come on over and have a great night of racing!

All the other officials and help great job by all of you too!

I think we had 16 or 18 multi/outlaws show up. Was a great night of racing! Had a lot of people in the stand's from Indiana that I talked too that thought this was one of the nicest and best prepped track's they had seen in awhile. They said they would definitely be back. Good job on the track Mike!

Yes, they will have alcohol for sale at the track. I believe Jim said that it will be $3 a gallon. I would e-mail Mary Ellen just too make sure that it will be there for next weekend, but i'm sure it will.
