Subject: I just read somewhere, the NCIS producers are looking to cast an actor to play the Admiral father of McGee (Sean Murray) for a few storylines on NCIS. I think it would be cool is DJE got this role!

[> No, don't want DJE associated with the show that ruined JAG. Nope. Nuh-uh. No-Way. -- The Chief (still bitter? You betcha!), 23:01:57 11/28/12 Wed [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> MJ, I think that's an interesting idea. It won't happen.Because of the hard feelings between Don and DJE. I never felt that NCIS caused the end of JAG. I thought it was the bad writing and bad feeling between Don and DJE during the last 2 seasons of JAG that ruined the show. They should have ended JAG ins Season 8 and been done. IMHO!! -- Cathy F., 10:52:51 11/29/12 Thu [1]

[> [> I didn't say "caused the end". I said "ruined". I feel there's a difference. And the embedded NCIS pilot actually *was* during Season 8, so we're not that far from agreeing anyway. -- The Chief, 22:21:57 11/29/12 Thu [1]

[> But didnt Mark Harmon get Don out of the way after season 4 when he nearly left the show? Also I dont see DJE as old enough, not sure who I would pick but maybe Bruce Boxleitner or someone else a little more hardlined -- dos, 13:52:59 11/29/12 Thu [1]

[> [> I agree, DJE doesn't look old enough (which is a good thing--LOL). BB would be an interesting choice. His coloring would be a good fit to be McGee's father--I'm thinking mostly of the lighter hair. -- JJ Ronda, 22:39:33 11/29/12 Thu [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> [> But BB was on NCIS as another character. Was it just last season? But then again, if NCIS is at all like its "parent" show (JAG), they should have no problem letting an actor come back and play a different role. -- JJ Ronda, 23:32:19 11/29/12 Thu [1]

[> You're all right, DJE is probably a tad too young, but they can make him up to look 10 years older. He probably wouldn't want that, though. Hmmmnn -- guess I just want to see him back in uniform -- haha! -- mj, 06:52:20 11/30/12 Fri [1]

[> I really see Mcgees dad as someone who was in his late 30s/40s before having kids, was a Navy lifer that has since retired. So someone with totally grey or white hair could play him. -- DOS, 08:41:36 11/30/12 Fri [1]

[> [> Well, Bruce Boxleitner IS all grey now... -- JJ Ronda, 22:59:34 12/01/12 Sat [1]

[> They should just cast DPB and quit trying to hide the nepotism. -- The Chief, 18:39:41 11/30/12 Fri [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> I'm pretty sure DPB doesn't have anything to do with the show anymore at all - I think his name on the credits is the beginning and end - but if we stay in the vein of DPB - That would mean Scot Bakula would be a viable candidate for McGees father - -- chris k, 16:51:28 12/01/12 Sat [1]

[> I guess one of the things to consider is the actor would have to be old enough to be McGee's father, but young enough to be Lily Thomlin's son. Remember Lily plays McGee's Grandmother. -- Cathy F., 11:34:39 12/02/12 Sun [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> ooh forgot about that - would papa be lily's son or son-in-law. Anyone remember the family history? Also- there's 38 years between Lily and Sean - so we'd be picking a papa born in 1957 - -- chris k, 12:22:36 12/02/12 Sun [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> [> now if we're talking lily's son in law- than he could have been born before 1957 - but no later than 59 or he'd have been under 18 when Sean was born - : ) -- chris k -, 12:24:50 12/02/12 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> Boy, am I glad you (chris k) and Cathy F are on the ball. I couldn't figure ANY of this out. Now we wait and see who arrives as Sean's father. -- jenks, 08:40:28 12/03/12 Mon [1]

[> It sounds best if Lily is maternal grandmother and her daughter hooked up with a sailor while she was in college. Some cute blond on vacation in Hawaii meets 30ish plus good looking commander on a beach. And now just saying that its too sad Thom Seleck has his own show. -- DOS - so who would be Mcgees mother?, 08:55:33 12/03/12 Mon [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> Lily is the paternal grandmother. In the one episode she tells McGee that she knows her son is difficult but McGee should call him anyway. "You know how he is" was on thing she said. She talks like she's his mother, not his mother in law1 -- Cathy F., 09:12:22 12/03/12 Mon [1]

[> [> so that means someone born in late 1950 - we can fudge a year or two - Wonder what Pierce Brosnan is up to nowadays- LOL - though he doesn't look that young anymore : ) -- chris k, 09:18:28 12/05/12 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> [> It's probably all relative - they just need to look young enough to be lily tomlin's son and old enough to be sean's father - Bruce Boxlietner is a bit too old - he looks more like Lily's brother- -- chris k, 21:28:41 12/06/12 Thu [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Yeah, unfortunately he is showing his age. -- JJ Ronda, 22:30:59 12/06/12 Thu [1]

[> I hope they just match someone as close as they did with Dinozzo, Robert Wagner is awesome. David Morse comes to mind, -- DOS, 13:44:02 12/05/12 Wed [1]

[> [> Terry Quinn is available now, too, isn't he? -- mj, 14:14:32 12/05/12 Wed [1]

[> how about John DeMita? The Marine was a judge, Col Blakely? He has the right stuff and age wise to be him. Plus after seeing him in LA at the JAG meet he is a cool guy. -- DOS, 08:38:31 12/06/12 Thu [1]
