It's all here!
Movies! TV Shows! Books! Music!
This is the place to discuss books, movies, music and tv shows other then JAG. This is your board! The structure is fairly loose but because not everyone watches the same tv shows, please limit discussion to one thread per episode.
We welcome your ideas on how this board should go. This is moderated the same as the HarmyBoard.

Since the Oscars are tonight, I was wondering if you had any favorites? I've only seen two of the movies nominated for Best Picture, so I'm not sure I have a favorite. How about you? -- Dancer, 17:47:27 02/26/12 Sun [7]
Yeah. Too bad he can't seem to cash the check. I haven't seen "The Artist," so I can't say the gentleman shouldn't have won. I'd just like to see George get it one day. (NT) -- Dancer - who also saw "The Help," so I sort of felt bad for Viola Davis, 02:20:14 02/28/12 Tue
Hooray for AW; cant wait for the premiere. (NT) -- Rena, 00:20:43 02/20/12 Mon
Same here, judi. I only tuned in to the Grammys because I wanted to see how they were going to honor/remember Whitney Houston. I only saw the beginning, though- didn't see Jennifer Hudson sing, and did Chaka Khan perform at all? I figured she might sing "I'm Every Woman" since Whitney did her own cover of Chaka's song (You can even hear Whitney saying "Chaka Khan"! at the end of the song).Other than that, I couldn't tell you how many years it's been since I've watched the Grammys. I think in the 80's *maybe* some in the early 90's. (NT) -- Matou/Carol, 21:37:40 02/14/12 Tue
(con't) I tuned in to see how many awards Michael Jackson would walk away with, and I actually knew and enjoyed *ALL* the music that was featured then.No fancy/glitzy stuff- just let the *artist* perform. I at least felt entertained then, instead of "distracted" by all the sets, noise, and bizarre hair colors or "face" nets! Sigh... I guess my age is starting to show.... (NT) -- Matou/Carol, 21:39:26 02/14/12 Tue
Another True Talent Gone Too Soon -- Matou/Carol, 20:28:16 02/11/12 Sat [15]
Same here, Colie- I'm only 4 years older than she was, so I was quite a fan of her music. Part of me understands that she was on a destructive path and that I shouldn't be too surprised by this news, but the other part of me is in denial-guess I just want to remember the good times. It's such a tough business to be in and survive. I thank God for her life, and the music she has left behind for us all to enjoy and remember. (NT) -- Matou/Carol, 21:24:38 02/11/12 Sat
Truly a wonderful talent. Her struggles were tough and she died to young. May she be at peace now. My prayers are with her daughter and the rest of her family!! (NT) -- Cathy F., 15:56:39 02/13/12 Mon
It's so sad. Her beautiful voice was damaged, and that must have been so hard on her. I have a feeling the Greatest Love is going to be making a lot of people cry. (NT) -- Cece, 23:52:56 02/13/12 Mon
Biographies -- Araninda, 12:28:16 02/02/12 Thu [19]
Yep. I know what you mean, Cathy. It was like we were supposed to get more out of it than they really put in it. With shows I love, I'm as willing to fill in the gaps as the next person, but for all the hype around this episode, I expected more. (NT) -- Dancer - hoping they pick it up a notch for the February sweeps, 00:23:07 01/21/12 Sat
This should liven things up a bit around here.... -- The Chief, 21:33:29 01/11/12 Wed [3]
I'm doing my happy dance that "Person of Interest" is back on with new episodes. I'm so hooked on that show. Jim Caviezal is just so handsome. I'm loving it!! Anyone else? -- Cathy F., 00:18:20 01/13/12 Fri [9]
Hey Jenks how come you didn't email me about the new spin off show from Bones? FINDER. I think it looks really interesting. . -- Cathy F. or did I miss the discussion., 16:54:37 01/08/12 Sun [5]
Actually, that's why I like my DVR so much. I can record shows I know I don't have time for now and come back them in times like these when I need some fun. "White Collar," "Royal Pains," almost any shows in the USA family are good company during rerun season. (NT) -- Dancer - who's also negotiating her way through "HP and Deathly Hallows," too., 03:02:11 12/24/11 Sat
Oh, and you didn't have to ask me which song I was talking about either... so obviously my description was enough to ring a bell for you. Why is that? (NT) -- The Chief, 22:45:09 12/10/11 Sat
I think this has to be my FAVORITE Christmas song - on the secular side. Inside for a link.... -- The Chief, 00:16:33 12/11/11 Sun
Yes- saw that on the net today, Bless his heart. Saw him on an ep of "Dragnet" today-(He portrayed "Bill Gannon" to Jack Webb's "Joe Friday" though- sorry mj) and also on an ep of "M*A*S*H this evening. His list of TV and movie roles is quite impressive, he's been around for so long- not many of us get 96 years. Bye, Harry- thanks for the memories. (NT) -- Matou/Carol, 20:44:03 12/07/11 Wed
Holiday Movies -- Araninda, 10:56:22 12/01/11 Thu [17]
I put a little Christmas story I found over on Lifestyles. I read it and enjoyed it. I though others might too. -- Cathy F., 17:26:30 12/01/11 Thu [1]
Depending on where you vacation, there's something to be said about regular paperbacks: they don't mind sand or a little salt water. Not sure if the Nooks/Kindles/etc feel the same way... (NT) -- The Chief, 17:07:01 11/26/11 Sat
Well, I'm sorry for those of your who loved it. I watched the first two eps with great anticipation, but the minute I heard they were bringing in the spy angle, they totally lost me. That and the pilot who was too young to be taken seriously and I lost interest. Too bad. (NT) -- Dancer, 03:07:28 11/25/11 Fri
