Okay- Has anyone else just watched the beginning of the oscars and thought - '

Hugh Jackman should have had the Pierce Brosnan part in Mama Mia? LOL.

I know of all the things I should have thought of - that was the only thing I thought in his closing notes- why the heck didn't they pick a handsome hunk with a better voice!!! lol.

And I'm also thinking - had he been cast as Brumby- JAG might have gone in a WHOLE other direction!! lol.

    - Sometimes it amazes me how many actors and actresses can sing--and sing well! It's just that there are so few singing roles that we don't see it much.     - well- he is much younger than Merryl Streep- but he's not that young- I mean at 41 he could be the father of the bride - . But you're right he would have made Merryl look her age (59). - Speaking of HJ, if you like watching him sing and dance, or just like to see him without a shirt on (lol), I highly recommend the 1999 version of "Oklahoma". You probably won't recognize any of the other actors, because they're all stage actors in London, but the whole thing is very well done, and Hugh is amazing!   - Couldnt hack watching the whole show, but when I saw Hugh Jackman...I couldnt help remembering that scene in 'Australia' when he is shirtless and pouring that soapy water over his body. - Hugh Jackman is amazing. He's a throwback to "old hollywood" when they ALL could sing and dance. There are also videos of him on YT from his Tony-Award-hosting stint, and he's singing & dancing and is just DELIGHTFUL. I've definately added him to my list of FAVES. - You know who else is an amazing "triple threat"? (That means someone who can sing, dance, AND act). James Marsden, who, like HJ, was also in XMen. He was a natural in Hairspray. He made it look so easy that you might not have noticed him. Plus, he was kind of overshadowed by John Travolta, Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelley, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah who, IMO, stole the show, and so many other amazingly talented people in that movie. - Okay, I finally saw the two opening numbers on YouTube. I thought it was wonderful! So much better than past years! Hilarious and entertaining! What more could we want?       - The Academy Awards has gotten mostly bad reviews. Most people were saying "where were the movie clips?" I think TPTB didnt realize not everyone went and saw all these movies and alot of the general public had no clue what they were even about.         Well, I didn't see any of those movies he sang about except Dark Knight, and some of them I have no clue what they were even about, but I still thought his opening medley was hilarious. It seemed like it was written so that it didn't matter if you had seen those movies. I thought it was creative how they made it seem like a homemade version of a big musical production. Too funny!         Maybe it was just the talk radio shows then. I listen to 3 different ones with Mike Evans and Cecily Nobler and they thrashed the awards. I find the Academy Awards boring anyway so I usually dont watch. We dont go to the movies much, with 5 people in the family it gets rather expensive. Hi, Haven't been on the board in a while. But had to share. Tonight I was watching NCIS and at the end of the episode (Family) they played All We Are, We Are by Matt Nathanson, couldn't help but think that would have been such a good song for JAG.

Sorry, I haven't had much time to be on the boards lately but I have missed all the great opinions everyone has. I'll try to get on more often.

- Well supposedly the producers have said that TR Knight and Katherine Heigel aren't leaving. Right. Anyway, I think the Izzy arc has been the dumbest thing ever.       - major is a rank in the Marines or the Army, not usually one or the other, but if this is DPB's baby & since we know DPB loves to tout he's a former Marine,& the Marines & navy are always hooked together -Historically DPB does what he thinks he knows- Magnum was a naval officer - Harm and Mac were navy/ Marine - Gibbs is former Marines - If DPB is involved - you know it's going to be Marines not Army- Besides - NCIS only deals with the Marines and navy - it wouldn't make sense to put a former army major in the mix.         Since it states "former" major with military police and there is no law that says an army person can't join NCIS, there is no reason to totally rule out the possibility of a former ARMY major. He had Gibbs working with an ARMY major last season and even dating her! Also, DPB created other shows that were not strictly Navy/Marines. Okay, for those who watch both shows, did anyone else notice that the bank robber and guy who was after Michael in last week's "Burn Notice" were also in tonight's "Leverage" as the Insurance guy and one of his men? I had to do a double take when I realized that.

The post on the Harmyboard got me thinking about this.

I thought the flight attendant who had been hurt was HILLARIOUS.

Apparently one woman sprang up and ran past the flight attendant and tried to open the rear door (A big no no for water landing). Of course water started gushing in so the flight attendant had to: Grab the passenger and toss her aside.

Her words were very similar but the funny part was when the flight attendant added- "I've been dreaming about doing that for 38 years!"

Then she mentioned how up front the two flight attendants had a typical evacuation - but she had ' A whole different show going on" - I guess being chest high in water would do that. : )

And lastly for a good chuckle - one of the flight attendants who I'm suspecting is more likely based out of Charlotte - cause when she was describing one passenger she said: Bless his Heart. - Apparently he thought he was going to have to swim so he'd stripped down to his underwear!

I hadn't heard that one before.

All in all - I think it's great that there's so much to laugh about after the fact. None of those stories would have been so hilarious if the outcome had been different.

Did anyone else see that interview and find it as amusing?

Did anyone watch Catherine Bell's new movie "The Good Witch's Garden" on Hallmark Channel Saturday evening? I wasn't home, so I missed it. Just wondering what you thought about it.

- It was cute, predictably G-rated family fare. CB looked wonderful as always. Right before that aired, her TV movie from 2006 "Still, Small Voices" aired on another network. I think THAT was some of her best work. She was in every scene, no glam makeup, just an actress bringing a character to life. I think it was really well done, and even tho the end was a tad sweet after such a tense plotline, I had to remind myself that real life undulates through all those kinds of seasons of our lives too. - Another wonderful, fun loving movie. I totally loved it and CB looked great as well as doing a great job. They've definitely left it open to do another one and I would love that. There just isn't anything like it on tv and it's such a joy to watch a program for everyone an all around fun movie and CB and Chris Potter are just too cute together. They ran The Good Witch before it from 7-9, so it was fun to see them back to back. They are showing it again this week. I just caught the rerun from the finale of Will & Grace and enjoyed again one of my favorite scenes -- Jack and Karen share the duet "Unforgettable." I love this scene where you're wondering if they're also singing to each other as actors, not just in character. This got me to thinking of great scenes from other finales. Of course, there is our great 7.5 minutes in JAG. I also loved the finale ending for Newhart, where his wife from the older Newhart series is in his bed. It was such a surprise! What other finale scenes stand out for you?

- I'm afraid my all time favorite series finale is the Newhart show you mentioned - Most of my life growing up series just ended - they didn't have finales. But Newhart was the best most creative I've ever seen. When he woke up and Suzanne Pleshette rolled over - that was outstanding. I just did the coolest thing... I *customized* a music video! I don't know if any other artists are doing this, but Keith Urban's latest video, "Sweet Thing", can be customized in a few quick steps and then e-mailed as a gift!

You just put in things like name, hometown, nickname, birthdate, stuff like that, and it gets incorporated into the video! There's even a link to embed the video on a webpage. I'll put the link inside.

I just thought this was the coolest idea, and I hope other artists offer it soon - it could be wildly popular!!!

Okay, I'm pretty sure that there are at least one or two Smallville fans on this board besides me. Did anyone see Thursday's ep? What a tearjerker! I knew ahead of time that this would be Lana's last ep, and that Lex would somehow be involved in driving Clark/Lana apart forever, but I still was crying my eyes out! And I'm not even a Clark/Lana shipper. (I never saw much point in shipping for them, because everyone knows that Lois is the one for Clark. Duh!) All I can say it what amazing performances from both Tom and Kristin! I felt their pain as they said goodbye. It was heartbreaking!

I have to admit I was a little concerned about this storyline after the previous week's ep (Lana becoming invincible with Lex's new skin suit, for lack of a better term). That just seemed a little too far-fetched, even for Smallville. Now, I don't really call myself a comic purist. (Although I will admit to never quite getting over the fact that this Lana has dark hair and that just seems wrong to me. lol) I also realize that they are taking liberties (with DC Comics' blessing of course), but that ep just seemed like it stepped too far outside of the DC universe.

That being said, it all makes much more sense now. And while it is still a little "out there", I guess it works for their purposes. It is my understanding that when Kristin agreed to come back, she was heavily involved in Lana's final story arc. She wanted to redeem her character, resolve some issues with Clark, and give them a better ending. I think she accomplished her goal.

One more thing. What was the deal with the ring Ollie was holding while looking at the picture of Lex? What am I missing? We all know that Lex isn't really dead (Duh!), but was that supposed to somehow be our clue, because I didn't get it. I can't even ask DH because he hasn't watched this ep yet. I just watched it last night. We're rarely home on Thursday nights.

So, am I the only hopeless, romantic sap who watched the ending with tears flowing down my face?

It's 28 degrees, freezing rain and in Dallas that means the world stops. So I'm home reading and watching TV.

I noticed Donny and Marie on the Bonnie Hunt show and raised the volume.

Donny announced - he's going to do Dancing with the Stars.

So there's contestant number one.

And - Marie said what I've thought all along- it's not fair. The women have to do leg lifts, jumps, splits, dips and the men basically stand there swaying their hips while the women do these leg lifts, jumps, splits, and dips around them.

I've always thought they should have two winners - the woman and the man. so the women compete against the women and the men against the men - shrug.

My daughter Eryn has gotten her IMDb credit for the movie she did last summer. If you search Shorts you will see her name at the bottom under Other Crew. She had to go with only one credit so it was either stand-in or extra.
I went with stand-in since that was her longer filming time. She is actually in the movie in 3 different ways.
She is a school mate of the main characters, she was a stand-in and she is in the last scene with the principle kids goofing off.
My youngest has her credit for Temple Grandin( an HBO feature movie) but it hasnt been uploaded onto the IMDb page yet. She is listed with the cast.
We are excited.

Wow, no one's commented yet on last night's 2 hours' worth of new Bones? Guess it's my turn to start!

There were a couple of guest appearances in both episodes. I couldn't help but laugh at the JAG moment in the first, when Booth and Brennan walk into the doctor's office and find none other than our own Bernard White (aka Sadik Fahd) sporting a crunchy gelled-up hairdo and Texas drawl. Is it just me, or does he seem to be popping up on TV a lot these days? And in the second hour, fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer might have recognized the actress who played Albie as Bianca Lawson, formerly known as Kendra, the other slayer who met an untimely death at the point of Drusilla's fingernail...

What did everyone think of the ending of the hockey ep? It looked like they were having a lot of fun, and DB looked really comfortable on the ice. I also loved how close the characters seemed... it's probably one of my favorite end scenes to date.

Hey, I don't know if you all over here have seen it or not, but over on the UOCB board they posted a bunch of new information on Catherine Bell's new movie The Good Witch's Garden over there. Over at the Hallmark Channel, they have a whole webpage up with videos, interviews, photos etc. for the movie which airs Feb. 7. THEY'RE PLANNING A SPIN-OFF FROM NCIS!!!

Supposedly, they are planning a spin-off series to be introduced through an episode of NCIS at the end of this season. I actually found several sites that confirmed the plans to launch the new series, including a quote from CBS President Nina Tassler: "It is happening. We are doing it. We have seen an outline and we are in great shape. 'NCIS' was an episode of 'JAG.' The new show will be an episode of NCIS."

I find it hilarious that NICS was launched off JAG, and now they plan to launch a new series off NCIS. Think they will steal all the good writers for the new series too????

- Also - in the old days- a spin-off meant someone from the original show would go start their own. Mary Tyler Moore show, Rhoda left when they gave her Rhoda. Chloris Leachman left when she got Phyllis. And when the show ended, Ed Asner got Lou Grant. When JAG 'spun off' - none of the regular characters left the show. Same thing with CSIs - the 'spin offs' had all new characters. I'm not sure they should be calling it spin offs. I think they're just another franchise. LOL. - IMO, NCIS was a "subset" of JAG - a dilution. A spin-off from NCIS would be yet another subset, another dilution, a 3rd generation photocopy. I find it entertaining and look forward to seeing it. There is something, however, I just don't get. GA is an ensemble show, with a focus on Meridith. All the characters so far, good or bad, have had character, with the exception (for me at least), of Meridith kid sister.

The actress is very pretty, but pretty alone does not make for an interesting character. She has the face of a saint, or a child. Am I the only one who doesn't see why she is given so much focus? And sigh....why or why do they team her up with hunky bad boy, Mark? I don't want to watch a grown guy with greying hair, have the "emotions of a horny 15 yr old," and I sure as heck don't want him leering over a saint with all the personality of an cute teapot. Izzie is also beautiful, but she has the experience of life that shows in her face. She may be an emotional fruit cake, but she's got something more than the visage of St. Theresa.

I guess my question again is WHY? Why did the producers think that she would make an interesting addition to the show? Is she someone's relative or something? Have her as Meridith's sister, then put her in Florida or somewhere else diametrically opposite to Seattle. I find her unbelievably irritating, boring, and bland, and I find myself missing real characters like Hahn or Derick's ex (forgotten her name). I want more of the other characters, and wish they'd dump the little sis on her annoying butt.

- They showed Lexie last year dealing with her mother's death and her father's alcoholism. She had a major crush on George, who never seemed to know she was alive. OTOH, Mark has been Callie's "boy toy" this year and last. I think they are taking these two to a point where they can stop being "bad" or "victims" and possibly show them finding happiness with each other. And Mark is probably not much different than Alex. AND as someone who loved seeing the addition of Callie, I'm wondering how in the world she handles her residency when she cant seem to concentrate on much that is above the waist. It seems to me that, all that Mark and Callie have in common is an out of control libido and thats not much of a basis for friendship and its not entertaining to me at all. I only started watching this show when Closer to Home was on right after it and have only caught it sporadically since then, but as Fri night seems to have become my "relax" night, I've been watching it more often and sort of getting into it. Does anyone else watch this and if so, what do you think of the storyline lately about her husband coming back from the dead in someone else's body? LOL I know it sounds really farfetched, but it's kinda drawn me in!
