I thought Roland was a psychiatrist, which means he spent 4 yrs in med school plus residency but he wants to work as a hs guidance counselor?   • I get the love/resent sentiment that Denise has towards Frank but I really don't get a feel for her solution. It seems she didn't even give much thought about what a separation entailed. Looked surprised when Frank discussed some of the parameters such as dating, phoning, wedding bands.   Hard to believe, I know.
  
  However has anyone seen Robin Hood starring Jonas Armstrong? This version is a British TV series that airs on BBC America here in the states. They are currently between seasons 2 and 3. Season 3 should begin airing January 09, I believe.
  
  The show itself is billed as a family drama, so there is no cursing, no blood, & no sexual references, displays, or nudity. Although in season 2, Lady Marian has worn more revealing clothing. It is somewhat spoofish at times, and sometimes references contemporary music, events, etc.
  
  I've been downloading the eps via iTunes, although it is also available on DVD. I have been on a Robin Hood marathon, and noted more than once how much Robin resembled our contemporary American hero, Harm: His quest for justice and doing the right thing no matter the cost. His respect for women, whether they be rich (Marian), or poor (the hard working peasant women in Nottingham and surrounding towns), or the one who joins his gang (Djaq [Jack]) after he rescues her from the sheriff's evil plans. He never kills unless he has to.
  
  Unlike Harm, he's not as reticent about showing his tender side to the woman he loves.

  • This show has been airing in NZ for a while now, and I agree with everything that you've said, unfortunately, we are on summer hiatus over the next couple of months.   • I've never heard of this show, but I'd definitely be interested. I grew up with the Robin Hood legend, and I've seen John Little's (Little John's) grave in Hathersage, a lovely country village near my home city of Sheffield. I loved the book (can't remember which was the definitive version), and loved the way Robin Hood shot an arrow out of his window, and was buried where it landed...(or so they say.) I absolutely love that one (and the Kevin Costner movie stole all the good jokes from the series!) • I wasn’t quite sure where to post this, but I decided this was the best place. I was over on the JAG “Under the Covers” website trying to find a story of Tracy Mallon’s… -- doc, on vacation with time to play & read!, 22:00:09 09/11/08 Thu [3]
  
  I came across a JAG fanfic story of Tracy Mallon’s that I’d never read before. I know we have the HBX for fanfiction, but that’s to post stories, not to recommend or discuss them.
  
  Anyway, this story of Tracy’s is about Mic & Renee. I’m not sure what possessed me read it, maybe it was the title: “Moving On to a New Love.” And if you knew how & felt about the characters of Mic & Renee, you would know this was a long shot to get me to read this story. I never really cared for either character on the show, but this story is beautifully written, & I really, really liked this Mic & Renee. Harm & Mac are barely mentioned, and H&M are both written not nearly so perfect, but probably closer to the truth. It was the character of Mic & Renee that I found fascinating. Renee is written closer to the character we came to know further into the show, not the “Video Princess” we all like to joke about. And Mic, I actually really liked this Mic!
  
  So, if you’re looking for a story that you might not have considered before, give it a try. It’s very, very good! I will mention that the usual Tracy Mallon sex scenes are included, and while H&M are okay, Mic & Renee…well yuck, I glossed over that part. And the word “glossed” isn’t meant as a pun, LOL!

  • I was disappointed in Tempe last night. She was very mean to the young intern and she was acting like a real bitch. IMO. My 14 year old was like " woah, mom she's a slut" I'm sorry but her behavior was very slutty then she passes it off by trying to make it look like an intelligent decision on her part. One is for sex and one is for brains. Sorry but that wouldnt fly if it were a man. I'm not liking the way one of my favorite shows is starting the season so far.   • I liked this ep much better than last week`s, although I still miss the older episodes with more focus on the acutal crime and less drama around it. That said, I thought the whole guy issue was very Bones. She was calling up guys to satisfy her urges with before, and .let´s face it, people have had sex for a lot worse reasons than finding their partner physically stimulating. Them carrying on that weird threesome knowingly, now that would have been strange. Is it just me, or is Sweets getting more annoying the more we see of him? • Just watched Army Wives from Sunday and I couldn't help but chuckle - and it wasn't right I know, but I did, - when Denise was asked about the guy she kissed from the hospital and she said 'he died'. Couldn't help but think about her boyfriends on JAG "all dead or wish they were" and it's happening again!!!!   • I wonder if one of two things will happen. Either Jeremy will get injured in Iraq and be shipped back to the hospital and his parents will bond again at his bedside. Or Frank will get injured and Denise will care for him in the hospital and will bond again with him this way.   • I feel sorry for Frank. He has done what he thought was expected and appreciated for 20 years. If he was home long enough to see the changes and acclimatize to them it might make things easier.     • Poor Denise who herself stated that Frank married someone who wanted to be a wife and mother. Frank is so 'controlling' but felt perfectly fine putting Jeremy's room back, telling Frank he needed to talk to Jeremy before he redeployed, told him what she needed from him in terms of intimacy, decided to go back to work, to keep the motorcycle and got him to go to counselling. Also it seemed strange that Frank would admit to going to the hospital to drag Denise out of there. Maybe he is better at pulling the wool over my eyes than I care to admit at this point. Right now his behaviour is so contradictory for me to truly get a handle on him. It could be a ploy on the part of the writers to get some of us to feel sorry for the guy.             • If you look above, I specifically said that the kiss & degree of involvement was wrong. However, I don't think their friendship was wrong. Maybe the fact that I work in a hospital setting & have/had many male friends colors my perspective. When she allowed it progress behind simple friendship, she was definitely in dangerous waters.   • I think the actors are doing an excellent job in showing us what happens when a long term marriage desentigrates. Frank has been an irritation to me since the get go. I even yelled at the TV a couple of times(well, more than that) All that said, Frank is hurting(As BT said, he just doesnt understand, and I dont think he will.) and this is definitely going to adversely affect Jeremy.I've made it clear he bugs me, but I dont like to see anyones family fall apart. 20 years is nothing to sneeze at.     • I think the writing and acting are excellent. Look at the emotion and rancor of these posts. We are being exposed to a horrible situation, a horrible nightmare that no one can awake. This type of situation is real. It is ugly, it is complicated and it is very unique to the military. Bravo to this show to shine a light on something that would never be seen on a “Leave it to Beaver” episode. (For those of you too young to remember that show, just think plain bread baby pabulum.)     • PS – dear clr – my post was NOT directed to you. It was an observation about the story line. You are completely entitled to your opinion, and at times, I too feel that both acting and writing are lacking. No show can hit a home run on every episode. (I also think the chemistry between Denise and Getti was fabulous. I’m sorry that isn’t the couple to watch.) • Did anyone watch The Fringe premiere ep on 9/9? -- clr, 01:48:36 09/10/08 Wed [5]
  I loved Alias (watched the whole series in about 3 weeks via DVD, love to do that with shows that have long story arcs); stopped watching Lost about halfway thru S2 'cause it got too weird for me to hold my interest/belief (hey, suspension of belief can only go so far in my universe). But Alias and the Lost phenon made me want to check out this new JJ Abrams effort.
  
  Did anyone else here watch it? If so, what did you think? I've got my own opinions but would like to hear others' first. I don't want to encourage or discourage folks from saying how they felt about it based on my post. So please, if you have an opinion, post it here.

  My photographer is doing a DVD of my son's 6 month and 9 month old photos and I need 2 songs to use. They need fit the baby pics of course and not be too short. The longer the song, the more pics I get.
  
  Music has been the last thing on my mind for the past 10 months and I find I can't think of many songs to use so any suggestions would be great. I like a wide variety of styles of music so throw anything out there. The 9 month pics are mostly of him playing so something fun would be appropriate.
  
  Oh, and I only have until Wed. to get this as part of a special she is running.

  • Jackson Browne's 'The Only Child' is a very good song, its serious, its a fathers wish for his son through out his life, its really sweet. I used it for a slide show, its on Hope's Home page. There is also a song from the movie soundtrack "She's Having A Baby' called "Apron Strings" that is a mother to her child, that just grabs my heart, in a very happy way.
