  • hey, mkim -- so nice to hear from you again! I don't watch a whole lot of TV anymore because I can't seem to get hooked on anything coming out of the States that get picked up because people love the shows -- like The Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Scandal -- to name a few. Although they might be funny or interesting, at times -- I get bored fast with them. I heard the show Orange Is the New Black is great, but we don't get it in the UK yet. The British shows I watch really do get me hooked. The acting is amazing. I also found I like Danish and Swedish mysteries. -- mj, 07:56:29 06/30/14 Mon
    • I've been catching alot on my Kindle. i have Amazon Prime, so i can get alot of series free. I've been watching Foyle's War, Endeavor and The Artful Detective. I can even get JAG's first season free on my Kindle, but sadly none of the rest. I haven't been able to care much for whats on here. I catch NCIS now and again but I cant really make myself care.         • I think the view of ordinary military men and the military as a whole changed too. You saw what happened when a Sailor or Marine went wrong, but you also saw ordinary fighting men and women who were good people. I dont really get where these people are coming fro.m in that regard. its alll spy games and politics but of course If they'd only be more like Gibbs theyd have the answers to all the questions.   • We watched the whole series on NetFlix. I hated it being over. Although I was born 2 yrs after the war, the setting was familiar to me. Also, my eldest sister was in the ATS during the war, so there's that. It was a fab series and I loved the acting. (NT) -- Cece, 12:25:25 06/09/14 Mon
  • New episodes are scheduled for 2015. I believe they will be 3 or 4 2-hour installments. I love here how popular demand and fan requests has a great influence on much-loved shows, like this. Initially a TV executive cancelled the series saying that viewership dropped. But, he has to eat humble pie, now. All the actors are still on board. What I also love about here is that actors don't play the 'big-shot' game. They love what they do and they re not out to gouge for money.     • It's a completely different attitude. Britain has a long history of repertory theatre, with professional theatre dating back to 1500s. Shakespeare wasn't the only playwright of his day, (just the best imo). Brit actors like to act. it doesn't matter if it's in tv series, cameo roles, the stage, or feature films.           • What some people may not know is that acting wasn't considered a respectable profession, and actors were pretty much in the margins of society----hence the placing of the Globe outside the walls of London. Of course women weren't allowed on the stage until after the restoration of the Crown. And those women were way down the society's totem pole.   Anyone watching Mr. Selfridge? I just finished the second season and really like it a lot. I liked the second season better then the first one. I really enjoy the characters and the story lines and costumes from the beginning of the last century. I'm very happy it's been renewed for a third season.

  • We watch Mr S. We watched the first season, and the first 3 eps of S2, with 7 or 8 eps in the can. I like it very much, and as it's based on a real character and real events, it makes it more interesting. I love Selfridges,{the store itself.) It's so quintessentially London.   • I just finished Flirting With Forever, and I'm happy to report that it was another excellent trip to Everson, Texas. This is exactly the type of book I like best--set in a small town, each book a complete story by itself, and getting reacquainted with characters from previous stories. Great job, manette!   it isn't pronounced like in the song ' chandeli li li é ' ( ' chandeleleleé " but ' chande lier ' the ' ier ' is important

  • Lauence, that is how we pronounce chandelier in English too. Many English words come from the French (as English we know was originally made up of a combination/fusion of Old English (Anglo-Saxon), and the old French from the Normans.   I really loved it, but then again, I LOVE Colonial America and Revolutionary War era history! The Spy angle is GRAVY. Also, living in VA, the entire thing is being filmed in the state - around Richmond, Petersburg, etc. with leftover props/sets from movies like "Lincoln" - so it's really exciting and authentic.

  Only watched snippets, it was kind of sad. Kim Delaney has done tragic things to what used to be a beautiful face and CB, what clips she was in, runs a close second.
  CB wasn't in the final salute show so I imagine she already back in LA. I don't keep up with them since I stiffed watching 5 or so years ago .
  Sounds like it ran it's course. I liked it when it first started but it became the Claudia Joy tragedy of the week and got boring.

  • It sounds like she's tied up filming for her Good Witch role as it's becoming a series, or that's what her tweets have been hinting at. So, she may have not been available at the time the rest of the actors for AW did this re-union show. She's based in LA now, too, so it just may have been impractical to show up, even for a cameo.
