My suggestion to any of you who haven't gone to get Manette's (Molly Cannon) book, is to run, don't walk to get it. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single page and I must say I'm in love with Jake. - I agree jenks which is why I'm reading it again. Now that I know what is going to happen I'm enjoying the "small town" characters and the "goings on" in that small town. I am telling my friends its a wonderful "PG" romance, no foul language, and just enough "heat" to make things interesting. - I didn't know anything about the distribution, so I never even checked for it here in Vancouver. I finally got my copies from Amazon in 14 days. Then today, I wondered into a local big bookstore, (Indigo), checked on the computer for Ain't Misbehaving, and up came Molly.! They had one copy in the store so I just had to buy it! Vampire's Dilemma, and anthology of vampire stories written by some well known fanfiction writers who went professional is now available at Amazon. At the end of each story the writers talk about how fanfiction affected their writing and which fandoms they've written in.

I have been sucked back to my Trekkie roots this past year by fan fiction and watching reruns of the Next Generation. So I have decided that I want to see my favorite actors from the different series at one of the Cons close by.

Well Austin has a big Sci Fi Con in Oct, 99 dollars for a 3 day pass, not bad but then you have to pay for autographs, pics with the stars and hopefully get a seat in the ballroom that they are going to have a 1 hr chat session.

Right now the ALL STAR TREK VIP Pass for seeing the Star Trek Next Gen crew is 899.00. Thats right, 900 bucks to get close seating, pics and siggys for the main 7 actors. If you decide to get just Sir Patrick Stewarts its 299, the rest of the cast is 30 for auto and 40 for pic.

There are alot of other actors that are going to be there that I want to see but as much as I want to see my crew, I am choking on the prices. I remember the years at JAGFest that we paid 65 for the weekend and the stars were thrilled to have fans.

Maybe I need to have a few bake sales and set up a donation center so that I can get a pic with Sir Patrick.

- Who gets all that money??? Does that $900 include your hotel, too? I wouldn't pay for an autograph unless I was buying it from a memorabilia dealer and the celeb was already dead (like Marilyn Monroe or Elvis). As long as the person is alive, and autograph should be free. A "gift" to a fan. Not a marketable, sellable item! - There is a Fandango event coming up soon (maybe in a week or so?) where many movie theaters will show two digitally remastered Next Generation eps back to back. I'm sure it is to help promote the new Bluray release. Google Fandango Events to find out if a theater near you will show it. - The prices for all entertainment is ridiculous. I have stopped going to Concerts for that reason. Starting prices at $75 for nosebleed seats or on the lawn. I wanted to go see tour group of "Jersey Boys" @ Proctors in Schenectady, Seats were $300 and the Cheapest in balcony in the back $125. It was cheaper to take a bus trip to Broadway. No star should charge for an autograph. The fans put them where they are. They should be greatful to give an autograph. It's all about greed. - 2 shows I truly love are The Golden Girls. Which is on one of the Hallmark Channels. And Designing Women, which is on the TVGuide Channel. I also enjoy Dharma and Greg. One show I would love to see put back on is "Emergency" with Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe. We lost a beloved actor today. I loved the Andy Griffith Show--such good, clean, sweet, wholesome, fun entertainment. And then later on of course was Matlock, another wonderful show. Just found out that his widow is from Jacksonville, FL and graduated from the same high school I did (not at the same time, of course). Small world.

I have recently joinded HULU PLus and have been watching old TV shows that I used to LOVE.
Silk Stalkings was one of my late night guilty pleasures. The episodes where Chris is shot and the following burial episode leaves me a tearful mess.
Falcon Crest, when Susan Sullivans character drowns in the bottom of the family pool after getting her ring caught in the drain.
The death of Bobby Ewing, which we all know now wasnt really a death.
Castle's Knockdown, when Roy Montgomery is killed is another tearjerker for me.

well- Did I have fun this week! - I got to ride all over Dallas (110 miles to be precise) going from bookstore to bookstore while Molly (aka manette) signed all the stock.

One bookstore - lord help them- had it shelved in Science Fiction - Really? Did they think the puppy on the cover was from the planet Kripton and the boots were shapeshifters?

Today, was the first official booksigning in Arlington TX and all 30 copies sold out - okay - Ms. Molly has lots of friends but still- woo hoo Ms. Molly!!

Now, i've noticed all the wonderful posts on how many Harmybroads are enjoying the read - y'all are great!!- But -There's more all of you can do to help push book sales with strangers.

If it's not in your budget to by the book you can help by liking it on amazon. -On the amazon site- choose molly cannon's ain't misbehaving to open the book page- next to the review stars is a LIKE symbol- click on it. The more likes the more strangers will buy the book.

If you're a member of facebook - the Barnes and Noble site has a LIKE symbol for facebook - you can click on that!

Whoever your bought the book from - B&N or Amazon - leave a review - or at least rate it. The more reviews the more strangers will be willing to try a new author. Especially if it's rated with 4 and 5 stars.

Well, what did everyone think of Burn Notice last night? -- doc, 13:39:09 06/29/12 Fri [4]
I find I'm really enjoying Jessie's character this season. I didn't like him at all, when they first brought his character on the show. I thought he took valuable time away from my 3 favorite characters: Michael, Fi and Sam. I especially hated it, when TPTB "suggested" the chance of a love triangle. I'm not sure where the writers really intended to go, but I was so happy when they made it clear, "Michael & Fi loves each, and they hate each other, but it's always each other." Jesse settled in as one of the gang last year, and this year I find I'm really enjoying everything the character brings to the screen. He has great wit and timing, plus a willing to give himself to the team. Plus, where there sparks flying between him and Pearce last night?!

Now, as for the last 5 minutes of the episode, what's not to love?!!! I want to "see" more of Michael & Fi's backstory. Those 2 killed it in that scene last night. I'm also dying to know the name of the song in the final scene. I've googled it, others have searched through lyric and music sites, but no one can find it. I don't know if it was written specially for Burn Notice or not, but it was the perfect song for that scene! And now we have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode. That's like FOREVER!!!

One last tidbit, if you're interested in a Burn Notice fanfic, I just started posting a story on fanfiction.net. I started posting before I finished writing, which I never do, but I couldn't help myself, LOL!!! It's been so long since I posted a story. I plan to update 1-2x/week. The story is called Apathy and I've warned readers to peruse the author's note before reading the actual story. I need them to trust me, as the beginning few emotional chapters set the stage for a very bumpy, but satisfying ride!!!

- Loved the episode!! I knew that Fi could take care of herself, but I want them to get the person who wants her dead. Jessie adds to the whole flavor of the show. I couldn't figure out what the writers were doing when they brought him in, but he's grown on me. The whole basic cast is so good. - Love my kindle. Some new books are priced almost as hjigh as a hard cover. The price I will pay depends on how badly I want it. If you wait a little while the price does seem to come down.   - By the way, older books (i.e. not new releases) you can find discounted, but new releases won't be any cheaper than hardbacks, whether for Nook or Kindle. Barnes & Noble has a deal (or had?) where you could download 1 book/week (?month?) in the store for free. I love being able to keep "new" books in a small reader. That said, I hope real books never go away! I love the feel & smell of books, especially old books. - I have a Kobo. I don't use it nearly enough, but I love it particularly when reading in bed or when travelling. It is so light, and doesn't hurt the eyes with backlighting. I have a nice little light that attaches. Up to now, I've bought books that I want to read. It's the convenience that I like, not necessarily the money I might save. - I think I want a Kindle because all I would use it for is reading. But, I can buy books so cheaply at the ued book store in town that I haven't really have been able to justify the cost.   - Cathy, because there's no backlighting (on the Nook and Kobo at least), an e-reader doesn't give you eye strain. It's like reading a book, with the added advantage of being able to change the size and style of the font. It isn't like using a computer or i pad which really can be hard on the eyes. - How long do the batteries last, or how often do you have to recharge? I commute for about 1 1/2 hours each way every day, and could use an e-reader, because of the weight and because I like to read more than one book at a time, depending on my mood in that moment. But I already forget to recharge my phone all the time, and it would be so inconvenient when the battery dies on th e-reader on my way to work! Since that never happens with paperbacks, I still carry those around with me. But I do run out of shelf space..   - Like the others have said, the batteries last for a long time and they are quick to recharge. My Kobo can be charged in a wall charger or by usb on the computer. - I got a Kindle for my birthday a year ago, and was immediately hooked. I've always loved to read, and this is so convenient. I've tried lots of freebies, and have "discovered" some good authors that way, but lots of them are worth the price. I have no qualms about just dumping them off. - I did watch the old version, though I came in after the big Who Shot JR? frenzy. (Today, cliffhangers are just expected and no big deal.) Loved Army Wives ep last night and had to chuckle at the similarities - vacant beach house, Denise (Mac) shooting the guy (compare to Sadik), sitting on the beach contemplating "The road not taken" as quoted by ClaudiaJoy and lying in a johnny in the hospital bed (Mac after her accident).
