I think the reactions and understandings between the two, coupled with the humor, make it fun to watch for me. I love BONES and this is another program with light humor and meaty cases. a book recommendation -- Deemus, 19:27:33 04/04/09 Sat [5]
I just finished reading an excellent book, and it's one that I thought some others might like. It's titled The Ocean Between Us, and it's by Susan Wiggs. Since she is one of my favorite authors, and since I like pretty much everything I've read of hers, I didn't look closely at the blurb before I got it. Turns out the first part is set on an aircraft carrier, and the main guy is the deputy CAG. There were lots of details that I wouldn't have understood very well if it hadn't been for JAG episodes, but as it was, everything seemed so familiar! Most of the book is set on shore, and it's about the stresses on a Navy family. It's well written, and the characters are very believable. I highly recomment it!

        Well, I think Booth's talk with Bones in the car was supposed to show us the more human side of Cam. I don't remember exactly, but Bones said that Cam said she didn't want children, and Booth said it was because of losing this little girl, like she never quite got over it.         I dont have a problem with Cam. I think she is supposed to be the "straight" man in the lab full of....different people. Hodgela has just gotten stupid. IMO He is like a needtobenuetured weenie dog and she is the bitch in heat from down the street. when she trots by all coherants thoughts leave and he drools a puddle at her feet. Boring, not funny and irrelevant to most scenes.         I get all that, and I do believe that is the point they are trying to make (her saying sex is the glue shows how messed up she is), but I still don't think they need to have her acting like a dog in heat to make their point. A little of it could be funny, but this is just too much. And is this intelligent woman not smart enough to figure out that maybe she just needs a BOB for a while? In 1982 France had just passed a seatbelt law and folks hadn't gotten used to it - the police would stand on corners looking for infractions - You'd be driving along, someone in the car would yell "les flics" and everyone would scramble for their seatbelts. - They started filming season 3 of Army Wives on Feb. 7 and it will start airing June 5, with the season 2 DVD coming out for sale on June 2. Also, Lifetime reported that Army Wives has already been renewed for a season 4, which they said speaks volumes for how successful the show is and the confindence the network has in the show because it's rare for a renewal for another season for a following year is announced even before the new season for this year begins. Anyone watching American Idol??? -- judi, 16:03:15 03/26/09 Thu [9]
This season we have a few standouts IMO. I think Adam is my fav. I love his over the top performances, but last night, he scaled it down and showed he has a great voice too. I didn't recognize him.

I love Matt too. Of course, I'm a BluesGirl and he knows how to put together a great performance. His range and delivery are awesome.

Allison wasn't one of my favs but she is now. She was awesome last night singing Papa is a Rolling Stone. And she's only 16 too.

What do y'all think?

- Love Adam. Love Matt. Love Alison. Alison's version of Papa was a Rolling Stone, completely blew me away. Matt is the most underrated, and though I used to like Danny, I now think he is the most overrated. Lil keeps disappointing me. She has a fab voice though. I like Chris and Anoop. Michael was a "class act" as Ryan said, but somewhat dull as an entertainer. Scott puts me to sleep, and Meghan is a beautiful trainwreck. I was off perusing a small NCIS board which I read, when I came across this spoiler. (By the way, I refuse to get overly involved with any TV show like I did JAG, so I limit myself to 1 "tiny" little message board, with "tiny" being the operative word. And "NO" fanfiction, LOL! I've learned my lesson!)

Anyway, someone was talking about spoilers and posted a link to the latest Ausiello spoiler for 'Bones." I have to believe that this is done "tongue in cheek,' because I can't believe they would go there, but then I don't watch 'Bones.' Somehow I can't make myself get involved with newtwork TV, except I have developed a fleeting affinity with NCIS "reruns," (i.e. can take 'em or leave 'em).

- Doc, Bones is very much "tonge in cheek," although there are serious story arcs. Sometimes, the show is very funny. The characters of Bones and Booth are polar opposites. Bones is unbelievably literal and scientific, and has no idea how to interact socially. Booth is a jock with great instincts. The two of them learn from each other, and there is definite chemistry. I don't know what I think about the cartoon hallucinations, but I'm sure it will be lighthearted. I'm also sure that when B & B finally get together, it will be sensitive and romantic. - I agree that this really isn't that far "out there".       - Actually doc, Bones isn't a medical show. Bones plays the part of real life forensic anthropologist, Kathy Reichs. You can't take ithe show too seriously.     - When they first started talking about being "naked in bed together", it was talked about like you said. But then they started getting more specific. I think Hart Hansen is the one running things. Barry Josephson and Stephen Nathan are also heavy hitters. One thing about Bones that's very different from JAG is that David and Emily are both producers now, so they have a LOT of input into the show and into their characters. I can't help but wonder how things would have been different on JAG if DJE and CB had been allowed to be more involved. Didn't care for Bones last night. It was a stretch........ What is with bumping Bones all the time that we get it every other week now. Fox should show Bones before the Elimination episode of Idol Thursday. The Elimination usually is on Wednesday at 9 so postoning it to Thursday still should allow us to watch Bones at 8. - I thought the ep was okay, but not one of the best. I'm disappointed that there's no ep next week. I hate it that my two favorite shows (Chuck and Bones) keep getting postponed. That scenario sickened me because it keeps happening. OctoMom is only the latest and stupidist. Those poor 14 children. I did like the ep though. I like that Angela is facing her own egocentricity. She's lovely, but she constantly undermines the importance of long lasting love and relationships, in her endless desire to live for the moment, and she hurts people along the way.. Actress Natasha Richardson had a mild fall on a beginners ski slope in Quebec, and seemed fine. But now she is being reported as brain dead, and has been taken out of Canada to her family in LA. This was a made for TV movie starring Kevin Bacon. It is an extremely moving depiction of the military escort of a fallen soldier from Dover Air Force Base to his final resting place. If you haven�t seen it, I highly recommend it! I�ll include a brief synopsis and the HBO website below:

In April 2004, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobl, USMC, came across the name of 19-year-old Lance Corporal Chance Phelps, a young Marine who had been killed by hostile fire in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Strobl, a Desert Storm veteran with 17 years of military service, requested that he be assigned for military escort duty to accompany Chance's remains to his family in Dubois, Wyo.

Witnessing the spontaneous outpouring of support and respect for the fallen Marine - from the groundskeepers he passed along the road to the cargo handlers at the airport - Strobl was moved to capture the experience in his personal journal. His first-person account, which began as an official trip report, gives an insight into the military's policy of providing a uniformed escort for all casualties. The story became an Internet phenomenon when it was widely circulated throughout the military community and eventually reached the mainstream media.

I know DPB is no longer in charge�cheers to Mark Harmon for pulling that off!!! Anyway, I liked tonight's episode, because it was yet another about fathers & sons. We, the viewer, got to go back to Gibbs' hometown, as the NCIS team investigated crimes committed against a pair of young marines. In that return visit, we got to meet Gibbs� father, who was portrayed by Ralph Waite, or "Daddy Walton" as we are more likely to know him. What a great casting!!! Watching these 2 great actors spar off against each other, before finally coming to terms with the highs & lows of their father-son relationship, was absolutely great.

We also learned a lot more about what makes Gibbs tick. Like why he goes by �Gibbs� and where his �rules� come from.

Mostly, it was great seeing Mark Harmon & Ralph Waite acting opposite each other. Boy, did they "sell" the idea of being a father & son.

It has been learned that Mariska Hargitay, star of Law and Order SVU has been hospitalized AGAIN with lung issues. This is her third hospitalization since December when she suffered a pnuemothorax as a result of a sledding accident.
She had suregry in Jan because her lung re-collapsed. Tuesday night early Wednesday morning she was rushed to a NY hospital complaining of chest pains. She wouldnt go of course until filming had wrapped for the day/morning.

I ask that anyone out there who is a fan of the show please pray for Marish. She is a very sweet woman who isnt only an actress but she is a wife and mother with a little boy who loves her. She also founded the Joyful Heart Foundation that was created to help survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse.

The HB is the best place to go for prayers.

- UPDATE. Marish has been written out of the next couple of episodes. They werent Olivia heavy anyway so that helps. She is off set for at least another week. It isnt clear whether she is home yet or if she was admitted for more than just tests. A friend on the set said she wont be back for a couple of weeks. She needs to stay home and rest. Hey Everyone!!
I haven't been here in awhile and I'm not sure if this has already been discussed and....I'm hoping I'm posting in the right area, but Bones has a huge article in the most current TV guide. There are some good spoilers. BUT!! what's most interesting is the article that follows after the Bones article. It goes on to highlight past TV shows that had lead character have mass chemistry and would tease relentlessly with no or little give to the audience.

I was OUTRAGED that JAG was not listed for Harm and Mac. I'm thinkg about writing a letter!

CHICAGO (AP) - Paul Harvey, the news commentator and talk-radio pioneer whose staccato style made him one of the nation's most familiar voices, died Saturday in Arizona, according to ABC Radio Networks. He was 90.

Harvey died surrounded by family at a hospital in Phoenix, where he had a winter home, said Louis Adams, a spokesman for ABC Radio Networks, where Harvey worked for more than 50 years. No cause of death was immediately available.

Harvey had been forced off the air for several months in 2001 because of a virus that weakened a vocal cord. But he returned to work in Chicago and was still active as he passed his 90th birthday. His death comes less than a year after that of his wife and longtime producer, Lynne.

"My father and mother created from thin air what one day became radio and television news," Paul Harvey Jr. said in a statement. "So in the past year, an industry has lost its godparents and today millions have lost a friend
Known for his resonant voice and trademark delivery of "The Rest of the Story," Harvey had been heard nationally since 1951, when he began his "News and Comment" for ABC Radio Networks.

He became a heartland icon, delivering news and commentary with a distinctive Midwestern flavor. "Stand by for news!" he told his listeners. He was credited with inventing or popularizing terms such as "skyjacker," "Reaganomics" and "guesstimate."

"Paul Harvey was one of the most gifted and beloved broadcasters in our nation's history," ABC Radio Networks President Jim Robinson said in a statement. "We will miss our dear friend tremendously and are grateful for the many years we were so fortunate to have known him."

In 2005, Harvey was one of 14 notables chosen as recipients of the presidential Medal of Freedom. He also was an inductee in the Radio Hall of Fame, as was Lynne.

Former President George W. Bush remembered Harvey as a "friendly and familiar voice in the lives of millions of Americans."

"His commentary entertained, enlightened, and informed," Bush said in a statement. "Laura and I are pleased to have known this fine man, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Harvey composed his twice-daily news commentaries from a downtown Chicago office near Lake Michigan.

Rising at 3:30 each morning, he ate a bowl of oatmeal, then combed the news wires and spoke with editors across the country in search of succinct tales of American life for his program.

At the peak of his career, Harvey reached more than 24 million listeners on more than 1,200 radio stations and charged $30,000 to give a speech. His syndicated column was carried by 300 newspapers.

His fans identified with his plainspoken political commentary, but critics called him an out-of-touch conservative. He was an early supporter of the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy and a longtime backer of the Vietnam War.

Perhaps Harvey's most famous broadcast came in 1970, when he abandoned that stance, announcing his opposition to President Nixon's expansion of the war and urging him to get out completely.

"Mr. President, I love you ... but you're wrong," Harvey said, shocking his faithful listeners and drawing a barrage of letters and phone calls, including one from the White House.

In 1976, Harvey began broadcasting his anecdotal descriptions of the lives of famous people. "The Rest of the Story" started chronologically, with the person's identity revealed at the end. The stories were an attempt to capture "the heartbeats behind the headlines." Much of the research and writing was done by his son, Paul Jr.

Harvey also blended news with advertising, a line he said he crossed only for products he trusted.

In 2000, at age 82, he signed a new 10-year contract with ABC Radio Networks.

Harvey was born Paul Harvey Aurandt in Tulsa, Okla. His father, a police officer, was killed when he was a toddler. A high school teacher took note of his distinctive voice and launched him on a broadcast career.

While working at St. Louis radio station KXOK, he met Washington University graduate student Lynne Cooper. He proposed on their first date (she said "no") and always called her "Angel." They were married in 1940 and had a son, Paul Jr.

They worked closely together on his shows, and he often credited his success to her influence. She was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1997, seven years after her husband was. She died in May 2008.

    - They'll be fine. That old 'moonlighting' bugaboo always had more to do with the individual actors, Shepherd's twin pregnancy, and Willis' ascending star, than to the folly of resolving the UST. Hollywood is not know for its brainpower, so that example became widely cited as the formula for failure for all romantic lead pairings going forward. Hollywood is full of lemmings. Did anyone see "Raising Waylon" on Lifetime with the guy from Criminal Minds Thomas Somebody and Poppy Montgomery. What a fun movie and I laughed through the whole thing....... -- BT, 09:57:57 03/02/09 Mon [9]

Both Waylon's parents die and the 10 year old boy is left to his godparents. The godparents are friendly but often at odds. They set up home and started to raise him with interference from another couple and the court. The godparents won out and fell in love. The funny part was the similarities with Harm and Mac and how this could be a fanfic (it probably already is) H&M could have been inserted instead of Reggie and Julia. Someone actually told him he was "too pigheaded to see that he was in love with her". His 'girlfriend' was a flamboyant women who would do anything to keep him (hmmm, Renee). It was a fun Harm and Mac reminder. I could go on but instead try to catch the movie next time it airs.

I don't watch 'Grey's Anatomy' unless there's nothing else on when I FINALLY get to watch TV, but if DJE would be cast, I would watch faithfully! I think it's time for the hospital there to get a new 'injection'. DJE would absolutely be 'Dr. McHunksy', for sure and I could see a slew of fantastic storylines with him in the house!
